TOPIC | Type Advantage and Party Building
I NEEDED THIS SOOO MUCH! I knew there were srtengths and weaknesses, just not the right elements. Thx for making this guide!
Are there other bonuses that come with types?
(Sorry I meant elements instead of types, dang pokemon brain of mine)

Only in that if you choose to build a mage you'll want to choose some elements over others right now.
Light, Arcane and Earth mages are not great for attackers unless you are only using Contuse and not the elemental attacks. Enamor and Enfeeble's status effects are bugged and don't work. Enfeeble also does the least amount of damage. Fossilize's status effect reduced physical damage to the target by 90%. This isn't great and I don't suggest it.
The more useful magical attacks belongs to Wind. Disorient's status effect can cause the affected monster to attack itself or other monsters. It also gives the chance at doubled loot; disoriented critters count as monsters for the purposes of loot tables. We're not entirely sure if it's an intended effect or not but it's still active now.
Ice and Lightning are helpful as they can prevent the target from attacking and Fire, Plague and Nature will continue to do damage.

I also took a look at your coli team. The coliseum does not reward a well-rounded dragon and you might have noticed how long and battles are and how much damage you're taking. Check out these leveling guides for why and for optimal stat distribution for general purpose teams:

Good luck!

I want to live in Theory. Everything works there.
Have you checked the Gem MP for Gene and Breed scrolls before buying an AH listing from me ending in 5g?

this is absolutely fantastic, thank you so much for making this @Clawtooth
me being a grammar nerd, i couldn't help but notice you wrote "who" instead of "two" in the last point: "On the other hand, each element also has who elements..."

@SallyJane
First, this thread is 5 years old and there's been a couple significant changes to the coliseum since then. Element isn't as important as stats.
Your first team is Snay (Arcane), Monarch (Fire) and SeaSerpent (Ice, mage), right?
Right now this team is probably struggling a bit in Bamboo Falls if it's even fighting there. Check out these guides for optimal stats while leveling:
Culex: http://flightrising.com/main.php?board=gde&id=1040710&p=mb
EeveeDream: http://www1.flightrising.com/forums/gde/2217190
The first is for Eliminate-equipped builds and the second is for non-Eliminate builds. To reset your stats you can buy a [item=tincture of dissolution] in the Marketplace or from players in the Auction House. Once you've leveled up your team you could
restat your team again for different builds.

Arcane is best in the Mire (double-fodder mire flyer build) or Golem Workshop (133 STR build).
Fire is best in the Rainsong Jungle so either a 133 STR or 129 STR.
Ice works anywhere as a mage but if you restat to a STR build they are suited for any of the Kelp Beds builds.

@Nighwind yes, that is correct.
Hmm, didn't realise it was quite that old... I do need to get a tincture for my two glass cannons, because in the beginning I trained them in Int, rather than Strength.
Yes, this helps, thank you very much.

@Nightwind Both of your links lead to the same place. Could you link again to Redfoot's Elemental Venue Guide, please? I found a few guides by them but not one called exactly what you had.
