I don't see it on either of them - just the element type, sex, and ancient icons...
I can add them by themselves to the nest, just not either "partner"

Yeah you can Assay Bloodlines in the Scrying Workshop prior to purchasing dragons for pairing.
The icon [emoji=breeding cooldown size=1] means the dragon is on breeding cooldown. Hovering over it should tell you the date it is available to breed again.
