My friends and I have our own system sorta like D&D, but whatever. It's got like no rules and a lot of acting out scenes IRL. A homebrew, I think you'd call it? It's got a lot of similar creatures and universes, so I'll just state my usual character.

She's a human (or some kind of mermaid, she prefers not to specify) , a pirate-vigilante type who wears this ridiculous trenchcoat even in summer, along with gloves, long pants, and high boots, as well as a hat. She thinks she's on the side of justice, but.... erm... not really. She's also a bit of a mad scientist (It was fun building the model of the "gravity machine" in my backyard. Not so fun testing it) for better or for worse. She's friends with these shapeshifters and angels who think she's crazy and generally are very uncomfortable in her presence because shes 1. smarter than them. and 2. unpredictable. Too unpredictable.

Her crew hates her (the crew is often played by my siblings and dog, so... authentic hatred) , and she's known to make people walk the plank.

Mm! We haven't played in a while due to circumstances, but my currently active character is Eridan! They're a nonbinary human and gloomstalker ranger (they've sold me on rangers being my favorite class, aAAAH).



Ever since they were born Eridan has had some sort of curse/gift surrounding death. Whatever they touch with their bare hands wilts, rots, or dies. So far it's only affected plants and small animals, but they're terrified of it reaching a point where it'll affect a humanoid, so they wear gloves constantly. It also happens that this curse thing activates whenever they feel an intense emotion! So whenever they're feeling sad, overwhelmed, etc. it's like an aura of death surrounds them and begins to rot their surroundings away.

Their family lived in a small, sheltered town and did their best to keep this curse of theirs a secret from the rest of the village, but after a public outburst they got outed and were forced into exile. Right now they're traveling with a genasi/tiefling fighter, and while at first they absolute did NOT get along, they've been bonding lately! :D Eri might make some friends

I prefer Pathfinder myself. More character options. I've only played a couple so I'll start with those

Lini the Gnome Archaeologist . It's a bard archetype that swaps out the performance abilities for some rogue stuff. Think Indiana Jones type of character.

Irlana the Halfling Hunter and her companion Mick. She rides him into battle. I played her the longest and did so much AoOs that the rest of the group nicknamed her Beyblade.

My group did play 5e for a bit. My character was Alester, the Dragonborn Eldritch Knight. He's the crown prince of his kingdom and is a master of the blade and of spells. I made a Pathfinder version using a 3pp race Dragonkin. He was a level of IB Swashbuckler, 2 levels of Oathbound Paladin, and the rest Elritch Scion Magus.

Princess Tara is a bit of a tomboy who likes to sneak out to adventure. She's one level of Falcata Swashbuckler, one level of Bard, and the rest Vigilante.

Kei is a kitsune that uses natural weapons to fight. He has one level of Adaptive Shifter that gives him a Tail Slap attack, and the rest of Feral Champion Warpriest that gives him claws. He has bite from his race and I'm trying to figure out how to get him Talon attacks that would act as his hind leg claws.

I just finished making this one and I'm about to be able to play her. She's a half-drow Unchained Monk. She has a sword to go along with her fists. She grew up in a temple where her parents worked after they got chased out of their hometown because her father was a bard. She likes to cook and do needlepoint.

Kotri is a Dwarf Warpriest that makes her own weapons. She can also use her tools as weapons if she needs to.

Ingra is a fairly standard human cavalier.

I made Hulk into a Pathfinder character with 2 levels of Barbarian, 8 levels of Alchemist, and 10 levels of the PrC Master Chymist.

I also made a character out of DC's Captain Cold. One level of Musketeer Cavalier (swaps out the horse for a gun), 3 levels of Trench Fighter, 2 levels of Phantom Thief Rogue, and the rest Gun Chemist.

Tristan and Crissie are human twins that I built to be played together. Tristan is a Dashing Thief Swashbuckler while Crissie is a Phantom Thief Rogue. They're former nobles that had their lands, titles, and fortunes stolen from their family when they were children. Now they're stealing it back.

And finally, just for the sheet heck of it, I tried to make a character with EVERY natural weapon in the game. Thanks to class features, items, and feats, I got everything except Pincers, Hoofs, and Tail Slap.

My pride and joy is sort-of a silly joke character but I love her lol

She's a charismatic tiefling warlock named Billie Hell!! She owns a used wagon dealership that sells cursed vehicles, and her patron is Billy Mays, she made a deal w/ him to get her business booming

She's based off of the one Big Bill Hell's commercial/sales pitching in general. I haven't gotten the opportunity to play her yet, though

kali ruffsman - my chaotic good dogfolk (a species my campaign made because i really wanted to play my goldendoodle girl dkgjhdfgkjdf) bard who grew up on a farm and loves talking to plants, even though she's not a druid fsjkhdfdjf
she's very sheltered and a huge baby, my dm likes to have me "roll for cuteness" with her and she's not actually fantastic at talking to other people, cuz she's bad at understanding emotion, but she's a very positive and sunshiney girl! i love kali so much
i'm trying to write her as autistic, her comfort item is her ukulele and her favorite stims are strumming her instrument (she likes the sound and the feeling of the strings), humming, and waving her paws around

captor - my true neutral dragonborn bard who is actually just my fr dragon dnd-ified! i thought it would be super fun to turn an fr dragon into a dragonborn character, even if he kind of breaks the rules. he still looks like a fae but he sports more dragonborn features such as his breath. he has a normal dragonborn name too but he goes by captor because he was exiled from his clan (pretty much because i wanted him to keep the name i gave him in fr or it's not the same jfkfgjhd)
he's a bard, but he doesn't play an instrument - captor is a poet and playwright! in my lore he loves writing, and in dnd he does too. captor doesn't like to speak out loud a lot; he usually conveys his feelings through written words. he's a coward and i love him a lot.

finally, rowan - my lawful neutral half elf ranger! i've never actually played with them in a campaign but my lovely dm plays them as an npc in the campaign i have with kali. i like to joke they're an animal rights activist. being a half elf makes them kind of ostracized from both human and elf society and so they kind of live alone in the woods. animals are their best friends :) they say that they hate humans and are more biased towards elves because their human mother was abusive and left them, but really they just wish they could be like them and pass like one.
