Rosekitten Hey, me too! I, um, may have programmed the range functionality as a way of procrastinating all the packing I have to do >.<
Yeah, I was finding it surprisingly difficult to find tools that helped answer the question "how likely is it that these two parents will have a hatchling in this color range?" and that's what I tend to prefer working with in the early stages of breeding projects.

gosh right?! that is my main thing i look for when im breeding.. XD I'm just not code savvy haha
I'm to the point where I don't even look at genes anymore,, I accept ill just gene them at the end .w.

What would you
attempt
if you could not
fail?

I made a few minor updates to the sheet, mostly that I added instructions for the new functionality I added haha. I also added a "% Odds" column that expresses the chances that an offspring of the given pairing meets the target criteria as a percentage.

Love the update! However, it doesn't seem to be working quite right for me. Some pairs that definitely should be able to produce a particular color combo are not popping up when I input that combination. For instance, something seemed off when I was trying to figure out a pairing so I put in the colors of a dragon that I bred, and her parents (both of whom were entered in the spreadsheet) did not come up as a possible pair. Any idea what is going on?

queerkestrel A thing that happened to me a few times is I accidently screwed up the references in columns G-I and Q-S of the "Dragons" tab while organizing my dragons. Could you unhide those columns and make sure the references point to the correct rows of columns B-D and L-N? That's the first thing I'd try.
If that doesn't work, PM me so I can do more troubleshooting?

Turns out that some of the stuff in columns G-I got deleted and that's why it wasn't working. Thanks for the troubleshooting!

If you put in two dragons with the same colours it doesn’t show them as a viable pair. I think it’s calculating the difference between the numbers without taking into account that it needs to add 1 (two adjacent colours will have two offspring possibilities, but 2-1=1) but I can’t find the part of the sheet that runs those calculations.
I could also be wrong! I don’t know much about spreadsheets but I did check the calculations and they were coming out in the P/S/T columns 1 short.

I love this tool! But how can I delete dragons I no longer need without breaking the spreadsheet? When I select all of a dragon's cells and select 'Delete and move up', a bunch of cells in the target tab give a 'NUM' error and I end up having to undo the deletion and clog up the spreadsheet with no-longer-usable dragons.

Hey, does anyone know if there's a version of this with genes and/or breed as well as colour? I'm particularly enjoying the ease of use here and kinda wish I had a version with the other breeding data input

sawkinator I've been having fine success with just deleting the data from the cells, not deleting the cells themselves. Also google sheets' filter function moves things without breaking stuff for me
