Based on this thread asking if spruce is blue or green, I was wondering how people divide up the color wheel based on color classifications. In other words, how they divide the color wheel into all the reds, all the greens, etc.
For me:

Maize - platinum: white

Silver - coal: grey

Oilslick - midnight: black

Blackberry - twilight: purple

Indigo - turquoise: blue

Spruce - moss: green

Goldenrod - metals: yellow

Marigold - tangerine: orange

Cinnamon - copper: brown

Rust - brick: red

Coral - pearl: pink
Some subsets within colors. I generally divide color-ranges into smaller chunks, but these are the most notable to me.

Mist - twilight: purple

mine is pretty similar to yours! a lot of one-offs.
to me, the most interesting difference is that you consider thicket and peacock to be blue-green. I feel pretty strongly (in terms of my own categorization) that those colors are firmly in the "green green" range (and even spearmint is borderline).
- maize-eldritch: monochrome. I don't distinguish a "white range" - either you are white or you are not.
- midnight: blue. this guy's just out by himself, doing his own thing
- blackberry-iris: purple (I hesitated on iris, I think it's borderline)
- storm-aqua: blue
- turquoise-moss: green
- turquoise-spearmint: cool greens, aka the part of the green range that I like
- thicket-hunter: "green greens"
- forest-moss: muddy greens (except for fern, mantis, radio, peridot which are not muddy)
- goldenrod-marigold: yellow
- sunshine-cinnamon: orange
- caramel-rust: brown
- tomato-carmine: red
- brick: brown. I don't make the rules.
- coral-pearl: pink

When I get the chance, I'll throw together a gene guide from a new update, so here's how I usually section the post:
whites & blacks: maize - midnight
purples: shadow - eggplant
blues: iris - spruce
greens: pistachio - moss
yellows: goldenrod - marigold
oranges: sunshine - caramel
browns: sand - copper
reds: rust - carmine
pinks: brick - pearl
As for the placement of spruce; to me, visually, the difference between spruce and pistachio is greater than the difference between spruce and turquoise (if that makes sense)... aka I call it more blue than green.
Not to mention, it's a bit closer to cyan (arguably blue) than it is green on the color wheel...
But ever since I've been working on
this thread, it's hard not to be picky about placement in a color wheel so I try not to think about it too much lol

My categorization is kinda dependent on how often I use a certain color range, with the less-used colors clumped into bigger categories. I think I would split the wheel like this:
White: ok in my head white has to be #FFFFFF White or else it gets a unique name like eggshell or something. I don't know why it's like that.
Pale Warm Tones: Maize-Moon, excluding White
Pale Cool Tones: Ice-Platinum
Grey: Silver-Coal
Black: Black-Eldritch (though Eldritch is on thin ice here)
Purple:
Real Purples: Midnight-Iris
Purple (derogatory): Storm-Overcast. this is actually just blues I don't like
Blue: Steel-Spruce
Green: Pistachio-Moss
Yellow: Goldenrod-Metals
Orange: Marigold-Tangerine
Brown: Oilslick (I refuse to clump it with the black range), Cinnamon-Rust
Red: Tomato-Carmine
Pink: Brick-Pearl

interesting!
Maize - Antique: Light Brown
White - Eldritch: Greyscale
Midnight - Iris: Purple
Storm - Caribbean: Blue
Teal - Peacock: Teal
Emerald - Moss: Green
Goldenrod - Ivory: Gold
(which in the case of earthy/less primary-yellow colors like Ivory/Flaxen also fall under Light Brown)
Buttercup - Tangerine: Orange
Cinnamon - Copper: Brown
Tomato - Coral: Red
Blush - Pearl: Pink
also fwiw blue and green falling under the same color or being two or more separate colors 100% varies by culture. least ime/in the US, only “true” blues tend to be seen as blue. anything more green is generally seen as teal/closer to green so while i don’t think of spruce as green, it’s closer to green than blue imo /shrug

How you've got them split in the OP is fairly accurate.
- Orchid is an oddball being a bright, warm-toned purple in the middle of the cool-toned ranged. Honestly it would fit better between Mulberry and Plum, going by the hue of it
- Robin is the last in the blue range, with Aqua being the turn point (complete equal green-blue values) and Turquoise is out of place in the color order similar to Orchid. It would have fit better between Teal and Cerulean
- The orange range goes until Cinnamon

Okay, I'm just going to break them up into their ranges based on FRs wheel. There are always colors that are tinted or could fit with others but I'm not going to classify every single color, just lay out where the ranges are divided.
White: Maize-Orca
Grey: Platinum-coal
Black: Oilslick-Shadow
Purple: Blackberry-Iris
Blue: Storm-Spruce
Green: Pistachio-Moss
Yellow: Goldenrod-Marigold
Orange: Sunshine-Tangerine
Brown: Cinnamon-Copper
Red: Rust-Carmine
Pink: Brick-Pearl

This is how I usually do it. Sometimes I split blue and cyan, sometimes they're all part of the blue range.
White
Maize - Ice
Greys
Orca - Coal
Blacks
Oilslick - Midnight
Purples
Shadow - Iris
Blues
Storm - Denim
Cyans
Abyss - Turquoise
Greens
Spruce - Moss
Yellows
Goldenrod - Marigold
Oranges
Sunshine - Tangerine
Browns
Cinnamon - Copper
Reds
Rust - Brick
Pinks
Coral - Pearl

Funny enough I think the "beginning" of the colors are all messed up which has been a source of frustration for many years.
Because only White is white, though Moon could be seen as a darker white.
BUT Maize and Cream are clearly yellow!! (Cream leans more towards orange and would fit as transition between yellow and orange)
Antique is grey ofc but Ice is clearly blue not white!
Also Platinum leans a lot towards purple and not grey! Would fit between Thistle and Fog.
After that the transition is (a little) more clear:
Grey: Silver - Charcoal
Black: Coal - Eldritch (Midnight is another outlier as it's darkblue)
Purple: Shadow - Iris
Blue: Storm - Caribbean (except Steel, that's grey)
Cyan: Teal - Turquoise
Green: Spruce - Murk
Yellow: Moss - Metals
Orange: Marigold - Tangerine
Brown: Cinnamon - Copper (Stone - Slate are grey??)
Red: Rust - Brick
Pink: Coral - Pearl
