Yeah I'm pretty bummed by this- on me for expecting I guess, but I've been saving dusthide projects with the assumption that the earth breed would get the earth gene once they were able. Kinda took the wind out of my sails for grinding for the fest for my home flight.

man i dont even have a horse in this race because honestly i think rockbreaker is absolutely foul but even i'm flabbergasted that dusthides didnt get it!! i know its not a 'rule' that new ancients get their fest gene at the next corresponding fest for them but this is just so weird. why give it to everluxes other than just the fact that theyre the newest breed? its so weird
and like other people are saying it just kind of adds to the community's general distaste for dusthides :( personally i really like them and its a little saddening that they got snubbed for their own flight's fest gene

And yet, they only got two more terts than Flameforgers, with one year headstart on Dusthides.
I dunno, guys. Dusthides got a festival tertiary in four of the last six festivals before Rockbreakers, that's not the definition of neglected.

every single color of sailfish/marlin and rockbreaker hunting for good matches, i can't believe that this is the end result lmao. jossed by staff

And that was work well spent! But yeah, Sailfish/Marlin are such good genes. Great at making fun color combinations that you can't get with other genes. I wind up scrying on Dusties a lot because of them (and because Sandsurges are gem breeds, which makes me avoid them because I don't want to get my heart set on something unattainable (I'm usually dragon poor.)) And Rockbreaker is so good too! I especially love it when the crystals are two-toned because then it has 3 accent colors that go seamlessly together (the outer part of the geode plays in, too, and I think a lot of people disregard that factor.)
But yeah, I feel your pain. You can see my own plans on the first page of this thread. Hopefully we'll get our rocks next year.

I literally specified it was about an ancient getting their own flight's tertiary and you still bring up OTHER fest terts from other flights.
You're completely missing the point I'm trying to say while still making less about the fact that Dusthides, THE EARTH ANCIENT, didn't get the EARTH FLIGHT TERTIARY and more about the fact that they got more terts than the other ancients despite the fact that all ancients who get launch now get the next few fest terts RIGHT out of th gate to pad out the genes they start with.
Dusthides aren't neglected on genes as a whole, I'll agree on THAT, but not getting their OWN FLIGHT'S TERT FOR THEIR FIRST FEST AFTER LAUNCH REALLY SUCKS WHEN IT HASN'T HAPPENED TO
ANY OTHER ANCIENT SO FAR.
You can keep saying "But they have all of THESE genes instead" and that won't change the fact that they got skipped for their own flight's fest gene.
