After some trial and error with the stitching (four threads as suggested by @FallingUnder was excellent for the legs/wings, but two was best for the fabric patches), he's been appropriately roughed up. Now THIS is a fellow that's been repaired over and over. I tried to vary the stitch spacing up a lot so he looks clumsily held together. Awww, I love him so much! He looks adorably ‘messy’ what a precious little guy! Though I must admit it is honestly terrifying to imagine he has a needle somewhere in him! I don’t like needles and the thought of just trying to give him a hug and instead getting stabbed gives me the willies!!
