Here, you can start your dive into the carefully planned out lore of my lair. As you explore, keep in mind that this is a WIP. Any help with scenes, familiars, and whatnot listed on my wishlist (especially for lore dergs) would aid in making the completed version a reality :D

... anyway, here we go!

Birth of the Skylands

Not too long ago, a dragon by the name of Sky found himself stranded in a new world, after falling from the sky like a "shooting star": not much of where he came from is known, other than his lineage to the Lightweaver.

He told the inhabitants of Sornieth (the World of Flight Rising) of the worlds he had been, which greatly interested the dragons who had never known of any other than their own. From these interactions, Sky (as they called him) realized that these dragons felt like they were leading a pointless life, constantly defending their part of the column. He felt like he had to do something about this, and he would. Word eventually spread across the flights, until a group of like-minded dragons formed, awaiting this new, promising way of life he offered.

Using all his strength, Sky formed and uplifted 9 floating islands, soon to be named The Skylands, serving as their new home. To the dragons below, it looked so painless, so simple, so easy. How could it not be, for a demigod? What he would not let on, however, was that a creation of such magnitude would take such a toll and therefore gravely weakened him. Regardless, Sky felt like it was worth it. It pained him to see these dragons born generation after generation into a world of constant war against their will.

Once the other dragons arrived, they naturally formed their own regions. However, certain flights were (generally) banned. First was Arcane: to keep the world intact which the Arcanist is not necessarily known for, nearly ending the world twice. Second was Lightning: feared due to their work in robotics, the dragons of the Skylands saw artificial intelligence as apathetic beings incapable of any form of sentimentality or empathy, and therefore were exiled since beings "lacked a moral compass, so could be swayed to destroy masses without remorse", and so forth. Whether or not these fears are true, these precautions were made to ensure the Skylands would keep their fragile peace: after all, it was created to be a haven from the warring dragons of the rest of the world. Anything that could remotely threaten this utopia Sky sacrificed and dedicated his entire life to, absolutely terrified him. Knowing his weak state and keeping it a secret, he lives in fear of the day word gets out to some rogue dragon who'd take his life and with it, this paradise.

Personal:
z9VGk8R.png
▸ Purpose: Maintain peace

▸ History: "A fallen-star"

▸ Strength: Physically, he is incredibly lacking. Emotionally, he is strong-willed, still somewhat optimistic, and hardened from the times he has already had to settle conflicts

▸ Weakness: Several: it's a wonder he's holding on. No one knows of this though... yet.

First and foremost, any dragon of any size or age who dares to stir unnecessary trouble will be exalted down to the warring world below. Simple: If you wish for violence, you will be thrown into the world of violence the rest of the community has revoked.

Second, any derived from the arcane are too unstable and unpredictable to live amongst the others. Magic poses a threat once the wrong dragon gets their claws on it. So, any spotted will be sent straight down to the world of Sornieth. If spotted twice, Sky and the head guards will come to a more drastic punishment.

Third, any derived from lightning may also not live amongst the dragons of the Skylands. While in the past they were permitted to, the usage of advanced technology that has led to the creation of cyborgs poses a threat. Once again, if the wrong dragon exploits the usage of robotics, they may form an army, resulting in an unnecessary and immediate war. Cyborgs are also immoral and unnatural "offsprings" of both the living and non-living, and they may share the same fate as their robotic cousins due to their half-breed nature.

There are a few things you should be aware of, whether or not you explore the rest of the world's lore to make it easier to follow.

Each region has their own festivals they preform. Seasonal festivals are celebrated on the first day of each changing season by all, although the hosting residents will commonly remain somewhat festive for the entire season. Feel free to check out the respective seasonal dragons: Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter! As for the rest of the regions, the Barrens celebrate the longest-day, and the Caverns celebrate the longest-night: not as major, and only the region's residents participate. Lastly, Clouds has the Day of Love, expressing gratitude for friends, families and mates. Unfortunately, Aquatide lacks a festival for now.

Peacekeepers are also present in the Skylands, and they certainly uphold their name. You can see the head day-watcher and night-watcher to learn more about their roles. You may also come across a couple of outlaws who have been slipping through their claws for a while now: check out Juarga and Stereo.
