I have no idea why people are saying soft toys have buttons for eyes. In 30+ years I've NEVER seen any soft toys with actual looks-like-coat-buttons eyes, the only place I've ever seen it are in horror stories/games/images etc.

I literally just amened my comment to say I meant buttons that LOOK like buttons, not the plastic eye type because I never thought about how those are actually sewn on. XD

yep, I mean coat-button eyes is the exact kind I used since I never was really a huge fan of the dome-buttons that are intended for handmade dolls. something just so appealing to me about that stitchy, made-with-what's-available plush look that buttons that are designed to be used as eyes just couldn't replicate

While I understand triggers, preferences and phobias. (I have phobias of my own) I can’t help but feel like these button eyes are fairly tame. I do feel as though the dislike for the update is a vocal minority.

I’m not planning on having a button-eyed dragon myself, but I think they’re cute and I’m excited to see what players and the staff come up with next ^_^

I’m sure coralline might have been a small source of inspiration, but button eyes go well with the patchwork genes. So it’s likely not the only reference.

I mean, it's a button. I feel like there's not many ways to draw a simple button? So like sure it could be inspired by the movie but eh. It doesn't really matter lol

I personally love the eye type because it brings a whole new world to the game. People can make stuffed animals, dolls, etc! It leaves so much more room for expression and creativity. I hope they add more eye types in the future. Special eyes give so much extra personality :)

I actually made a post about this a couple months ago and had eye type ideas myself in suggestions. I was surprised they came out with new eyes right after lol

I will say I prefer it without the stitching. I feel uncomfortable about the implications of stitches, especially on non-plushie dragons...
