TOPIC | [Dom Watch] Shhh!!
i'm so proud of both our AND arcane's attendants, the raffles and PBs were wild and you all were truly the glue keeping it together! it was a wonderful battle, you all should be proud of yourselves whenever you wake up XD

and of course props to both dom teams for their hard work in organizing, setting up, and running this battle. imo the dom teams are the backbone of their flights for big events like this, and deserve a spa day after battles!

now i'm also going to go fall onto my face and sleep for a couple days

Can someone please explain the out of flight raffle - are we essentially giving dragons to be exalted by other flight? how do we do these things? is it better to do in flight or out of flight? thanks all! sorry for being a newb haha

@PartyPig Typically during Dom two flights (in our case it was Arcane V Light) duke it out and try to basically out exalt each other to place 1st on the Dom board for the following week. Each group has their own Out Of Flight Raffle. Folks from other Doms sell their dragons to either flight or both flights if they are wanting to enter the raffle for both and yes each of those respective flights exalt the dragons in honor of their Deity :) If your Dom is participating against another group I'd totally sell your dragons to your own Dom to help them place but if its not either of your group pick one or both raffles and enter away on each Dom's respective OOF board :) Hope that makes sense! :)

@PartyPig Hi, you're about a week late for Light vs. Arcane, but since Wind has a push going (here's this week's Dom Watch, for reference) I figure it's still worth giving a brief explanation.

Yes, when you sell to an out-of-flight raffle, you're selling that flight dragons in exchange for money and/or tickets. Basically, Public Buys are "We're buying your dragons! Higher prices, but no tickets.", OOF Raffles are "We're buying your dragons! Prices might be a little lower, but you might win something fun!" or "If you sent us dragons for free, we'll give you a bunch more tickets and sometimes a badge".

If you've an In-Flight Raffle available, you always do that instead of the Out of Flight Raffle because a) you're... not out of flight, and b) the dragons your flight exalts go towards getting y'all discounts in the Treasure Marketplace/Grand Exchange and bonus turns Gathering, so in general you want to help your team out, eh?

As far as why you want to exalt dragons- the flights are ranked by most levels exalted, weighted by flight size (so like, Earth is way smaller than everyone else, so their dragons count more than a dragon I exalt, as a Light member). People who're inactive don't count towards this. Since Arcane is pretty big (and so are Light and Wind, for that matter), the more participation, the better.

Your own dom organizers will maybe be able to help explain further, since every flight has "how do I participate?" work slightly differently, so I'd look in your Dominance Forums for that! I'm happy to clarify anything I was confusing about as well, though obviously I won't be able to help with in-flight stuff.

Happy training!

@starmates ok so if we aren't in a battle, we could share our dragons with a different flight? does it still get advertised here? otherwise, just give them to our own flight if we are in a battle? i hope i understand right! thank you!

@PartyPig I mean each person can share with whoever they'd like lol :) like any fodder is your own dragons so its your choice of course :D Normally I exalt my own after leveling to make treasure but I also try to level some to throw in my hibden for later :) I'm not sure if its get advertised here to be honest...this is my first Dom :) But yeah you can donate to your own flights if you want as I think most do IFR (in flight raffles) and I think maybe public buy too? So raffles you have a chance of winning something whereas public buy you are guaranteed whatever that flight/your own flight is offering for PB at the time :)

@PartyPig Yeah, Dom Watch has a good wrap on the planned events (and if there are unplanned pushes, people will talk about those on that thread a bit as well, in general).

You tend to get more for leveling dragons, but there is a cost/benefit consideration to be made- for example, you can level two batches of level 7 dragons in the time it takes to get one batch to level 10. For standard exalting, there's a payout chart you can reference; what level will be the most cost-effective highly depends on the fodder floor (aka the cheapest dragons on the Auction House), since like... doesn't matter how fast you go if you're not breaking even, yeah? There's this neat tool another user made for helping check what level is worth it, too (among a bunch of other neato utilities).

With Public Buys and Raffles, the prices may fluctuate during the week, so the host flight will have a payout chart and a spreadsheet to check for the current prices. Hard to give precise advice there, as a result.

I can tell you that it's rarely worth it to level a dragon past 10 if your purpose is to exalt. It starts taking WAYYYY too much time.

(The one problem with needing to exalt to get space is uh, you do need space to hold the dragons you're gonna exalt. So that's a bit of a Catch-22, I suppose)
