anyone else have horrid luck? i switch up where i scavenge from but i like to do it from the dominating flight just cos of the idea that there's a bit more luck from it but god it feels like i only ever scavenge an egg maybe once every six months TToTT

I think every six months is a pretty common drop rate, they're supposed to be very rare. I'd say my experience is similar. If you really were after eggs you'd probably be better off grinding coli or fairgrounds to buy one, unfortunately :')

I remember a long time ago that there was talk of egg drop chances from scavenging decreasing as the scavenging level increased, because more items would become available in the loot table. It makes sense but I'm not sure if it's true in practice or not. If it is, that could explain why some people feel like they're having progressively worse luck scavenging for eggs.

@Markoth oh no no i don't want to buy them i want to sell them ;3c yeah i get that they're rare but it feels like i have bad luck TToTT

@RosaTheRad yeah i kind of wish they would tweak the rng because it's the same when you're food gathering and you'll have a few turns where you get like 1 or 2 items that are worth 2pts, doesn't make it worth it!

[/quote] to my understanding, this exists, but less so than you might think, because eggs are 5* rarity items. the game first rolls for what rarity you get, and then rolls among all possible items at that rarity. most of the items added at higher scavenging levels aren't 5*, so they don't detract from egg chance. (I don't have a source for this, but that's how I remember it being explained by someone on here)

i used to get an egg a month basically 2 years ago. always scavenged in the upcoming fest's region and got one before the fests. did i hatch them all and regret it? mostly.

but i've also been in a dry spell for a bit. i just gotta keep going for it. but yeah odds are low, but it's not level dependent.

I have more luck in the coli. Likely got 100 eggs from there. From scavenging i got maybe 5 over 10 years? I don't really gather much though but trying for an egg feels like a waste of my turns. It is my least favorite as it feels like it give more useless stuff then good

Never gotten any eggs from scavenging yet, they're pretty low odds :(
