Statement of Jonathan Sims, Head Archivist of the Magnus Institute, regarding the Distortion. Original statement given June the 10th, 2023.

The Distortion, sometimes referred to as Michael (thought it expresses a lack of concrete connection to this name, it does respond to it), is a manifestation of the Spiral. As a result of a dragon entering its domain and disrupted its ritual, it expresses discomfort with its physical form, viewing it as a monument to its failure. While appearing as a normal dragon from head on, if causing some slight headache, when viewed through a reflection or similar means his true form is revealed, being a distorted version of itself with stretched proportions to the point of impossibility.
