Flight Rising Discussion

In all my years of playing flight rising, I don’t know who the heck Hope is! Who on earth is this random tundra with shadowbinder and who the heck is Boston?!?! (Check hopes bio) Wouldn’t it make more sense if a veilspun or nocturne was at the Shadowbinder’s side? I’m just so-so confused... Boston is in the Lightweaver's lair, but I don't know anything other than that.
