TOPIC | Dragon sizes. What???
My friend @MaliciousMercy described to me her guardian dragon's massive 45 foot wingspan. Which at first, I was like, what? No? That doesn't sound right.
But the measurements are there in the dragon's profile, meters converted to feet shows that this is true.
I am very shocked and stunned. I never noticed this before. I always just head canoned that all of the dragons were similarly wolf or horse sized creatures. But they're dragons. Dragons in popular media are building sized, and the Flight Rising cover art even shows a scaled size comparison of three different breeds. (which I for some reason disregarded as just weird perspective and not actual size.) Why am I so surprised?
So what happens when my 63 foot guardian dragon breeds with my 4 foot tall fae dragon??? And they successfully reproduce and create eggs how??? I am so scared...

It's just something you don't want to think about, really... especially when you realise that guardian and fae were your starters. A picture of a mutant bird. It's desaturated green with octopus tentacles instead of a beak, bat-like wings and tail. Looks omnious.A terracotta pot with some cindershrooms growing in it and tall, red flowers. In front of the pot, slightly on the right, there is a pile of orange and black stones.A terracotta pot with an oak tree bonsai in autumn.A gif of a specimen of the bird species Cyanistes caeruleus lying on its back. It holds a candycane in its feet and licks it every few seconds.
yeah once you actually look at sizes it gets a little interesting o_o;

theres a few breeds i pretend i do not see their sizing info, and even a few specific dragons too (my icon derg is so smol i want him to be big dangit)

This site has a tool for comparing sizing

It is unfortunately outdated and doesnt even have bogsneaks, but you can get a general idea

I ignore the spiral size. I refuse to believe they are tiny things. I cannot see.

Makes for interesting lore and even art opportunities though. My progens are guardian and fae and my guardian is small at only 46 feet long. Got the two a lovely piece of foddart a couple of years ago that wouldn't be possible if they were similar sizes. I ignore Guardian sizes. There is one OC that is huge, like three times the size of an imp. He eats faes like sugar cubes :)

I was shocked when i realized spirals are so small. I always thought they are as wide as trees are tall.

It makes for some interesting lore that's for sure... My largest dragon Cygnus is 39.96m long while my smallest dragon Vladimiri is 0.32m. He is almost 100 times the size of Vladimiri.
