I'm wondering if this was used/will be used to link to a story from an announcement post at some point? Like, they do flavor images sometimes... but those also tend to end up in the "Bounty of the Elements" section on the Encyclopedia and this didn't look to be there (it also wasn't in the Beastclans Apology post, but I didn't check other posts beside that one). It is super cool either way ^-^

@renaiworm I thought the same, you are right! I love random flavour art because I download them all as assets for safekeeping but I don't think I've seen them anywhere. If these are part of Beastclan lore, however, and will be here in future updates, this can maybe give us an estimate on how long ago the Staff started considering revamping the lore! :0 I'm genuinely impressed because it's been some time since the first spotting of the necklace.
If any dev can confirm or deny, that'd be wonderful. Maybe it was just supposed to be additional Beastclan stuff and then they reused it for this new direction

The first year FR was around, we'd release items as soon as they were finished. That got hectic and made for inconsistently spaced updates and frazzled team members.
Now we usually work a few months in advance, though we'll sometimes hang onto content for a year or two. There's a few things that are created shortly before release, but for the comfort of our team members, we try and keep those types of deadlines as an exception, not a rule.

Got this in a captcha today. Tried searching through the database, but no exact matches. The closest that struck to me were these:
