Okay this was way too hard to narrow down because there's so many familiars and I love so many of them. But here are my top 10 in no particular order, that is the best compromise I can offer [emoji=coatl laughing size=1]
[quote name="Aerborne Ambassador"][columns][img]https://www1.flightrising.com/static/cms/familiar/art/29583.png[/img][nextcol] The 2018-2019 holiday familiars are definitely one of my favourite sets, but the Wind ambassador is just perfect. I love the colours, and the details on the costume are incredible- the billowing sleeves, the tail rings and bracelets, the face paint. Gosh! I know every familiar in this set has the symbols for the beastclan and their respective flight but it is just SUCH a good detail.[/columns][/quote]
[quote name="Spirit of Nature"][columns][img]https://www1.flightrising.com/static/cms/familiar/art/26632.png[/img][nextcol]That being said, the Spirit set from 2017-2018 are exquisite. Nature and Shadow are my favourite from that year, but Nature wins out because it's just so dang graceful. You can clearly see the animal's musculature but it's still very elegant. Also, mad props to the artist because antlers are a pain and a half to draw, and the Spirit of Nature's manage to look realistic but slightly fantastical at the same time. [/columns][/quote]
[quote name="Maren Defender"][columns][img]https://www1.flightrising.com/static/cms/familiar/art/20148.png[/img][nextcol]This Maren is adorable! She looks so chubby and cute, but you know from that spear in her hand that she'll absolutely shank you if you threaten her territory. Maren don't mess around! [emoji=coatl scared size=1]
Water-dwelling beings with practical fins and frills always delight me so you know I completely adore all of the Maren's designs, but the Defender is my particular favourite. The reflective water pattern on her tail is a gorgeous addition. [/columns][/quote]
[quote name="Four-Eyed Phylactery"][columns][img]https://www1.flightrising.com/static/cms/familiar/art/28771.png[/img][nextcol]Full admission of bias here- I associate Mirrors with my best friend (ashanimus) and she's an avid collector of custom plushies. Every time I see this familiar I'm just like, "Awwwwww!!!" I love the large stitches and patches and the mismatched button eyes- ugh, too cute.
Whoever is in charge of merch, let it be known that I want one of these irl. Chop chop![/columns][/quote]
[quote name="Roughshod Sniper"][columns][img]https://www1.flightrising.com/static/cms/familiar/art/33433.png[/img][nextcol]<= The best, newest, and hottest member of the Dunhoof Beastclan.
Seriously, what a babe. I think the Beastclan familiars often have the best attention to detail, just because there's so much lore surrounding them. And while it isn't visible with this familiar, I think it's a super cute design choice that the Dunhoof have horsey ears. The long flowing manes on the other centaurs are beautiful of course, but I love that both her hair AND tail are cropped short. Cute cute cute.[/columns][/quote]
[quote name="Silver Kistune"][columns][img]https://www1.flightrising.com/static/cms/familiar/art/25355.png[/img][nextcol]Honestly this is a choice that surprises even me- I'm not really into foxes, and along with owls I think their design usage in merchandise has gotten oversaturated. Too much of a good thing, y'know? But oh my goodness this Kitsune is gorgeous! I think the darker accent colours on the ears, paws, and tail tips look beautiful; the overall pose and anatomy just looks very playful and endearing, and there's a fun disparity between that and the slightly unsettling kitsune's mask. And I love the earrings- I don't know why but they are just the best.[/columns][/quote]
[quote name="Transmuted Treasure"][columns][img]https://www1.flightrising.com/static/cms/familiar/art/25170.png[/img][nextcol]I'll admit I'm partial to a lot of the NotN familiars- I think they have really fun designs! And then I'm fond of mimics in any form, probably because of all the fanart of those goofy Ectoplasmimes bleh-ing out chests as you bond with them. I love them so much and they very nearly got a spot on the top 10 but I just think the Transmuted Treasure has an overall better design. The clawed hand holding a gem with the little *shing* really sells it for me, what can I say?
As an aside, I really appreciate that the smoke/mist/fog in FR has such consistent rendering. If you look closely at the swirls at the base of the chest and inside, you can easily compare them to all the green Wind we've seen across items on the site![/columns][/quote]
[quote name="Terra Tortoise"][columns][img]https://www1.flightrising.com/static/cms/familiar/art/23886.png[/img][nextcol]His description says he's a dummy, and he has a cute lil flower on his head. Look at that face. Look at it. I would die for this familiar.[/columns][/quote]
[quote name="Garden Watcher"][columns][img]https://www1.flightrising.com/static/cms/familiar/art/26126.png[/img][nextcol]I think this familiar is one that I saw on tumblr during my hiatus, and it started the spark of renewed interest in me- like, if these are the newest familiars, I wonder what else I missed! Its cute little feets and those spooky eyes peeking out- don't you just want to pet it like a puppy? Extra appreciation points for the stripes of colour that I've seen in my own neighborhood in springtime.[/columns][/quote]
[quote name="Primrose Mith"][columns][img]https://www1.flightrising.com/static/cms/familiar/art/22382.png[/img][nextcol]With every new Mith familiar released, I become more and more endeared to them. Give us an official Beastclans entry for them already! The Primrose is my favourite design of all Miths, because it combines all the darling fluffy moth-y goodness of the other Miths, with flowers and a cute purse. And pink. I love pink.
The anatomy details are really sweet too- you never really think to look that closely, but eventually you spot the floofy tails and the odd clawed fingers and toes. I love their designs so much, help. ;_;[/columns][/quote]

I’m quite fond of the cups.
[item=Vigorous Goblet][item=Dancing Chalice][item=Cracked Crystal]
I love all the animated object critters, but the cups are probably some of my favorites.
[item=ultimate buttersnake] is pretty rad too, especially the concept of being technically animated. [item=cockatrice] [item=fuiran] [item= Algae-bottom slarg] [item=nightmare] are all awesome. There’s quite a few familiars I really like the design of actually.
This tricky beverage is always going out of its way to spill itself. Keep it off the rug!

Cracked Crystal
Familiar
That belonged to a grandmatron - she's going to be very disappointed in you.

Ultimate Buttersnake
Familiar
Yes, you can have it all.
500
is pretty rad too, especially the concept of being technically animated.
Cockatrice
Familiar
Don't let the Cockatrice's amusing gait fool you, its screeching crow can freeze a dragon in place.
1800
Fuiran
Familiar
Fuiran are one of the few species in the Shifting Expanse that prey upon Scalebacks. Their powerful jaws are capable of cracking the thick hide.
1950
Algae-Bottom Slarg
Familiar
A slarg must keep its skin moist to stay hydrated and avoid suffocation.
1000
Nightmare
Familiar
This eerie equine creature is surprisingly sweet, but will only make itself known in dreams to those who have witnessed a death.
2750

Hjönk Hjönk Am Goose
I've always been terribly fond of these guys
[item=jeweled octoflyer] [item=octoflyer] [item=parda] [item=king parda]
The octoflyers' thumbnails have always made me think of the \o/ emoticon, and I love the little butt wiggle the pardas do in coli.
Honorable mentions: Celestial Antelope/Silver Springbok, Fangars, the Marva bunnies, Perytons, Slargs, Loaches, Kelpies, Chipskinks... uh. Maybe I should just say "all of them"? I love so many of the designs!
Much more refined than a regular octoflyer: peasants!
2900
Octoflyer
Familiar
These invertebrates may leap from the water and glide short distances. Water clan hatchlings enjoy watching them smack into things.
2900
Parda
Familiar
These evolutionary oddities lay eggs but nurse their young. They also chirp!
2550
King Parda
Familiar
King Parda designates neither gender nor royalty; these feline creatures are a much larger subspecies of Parda.

The Featherbacks have been my favourite for a long time. Just thinking about this omnivorous but mainly carnivorous boar-dog hybrid with sharp teeth, a cute snoot and adorable chonky arms is my weakness. They're just really cute to me.
[item=Featherback Boar][item=Undying Featherback]
But these lads just perfectly show how incredible the anatomy of Sornieth's creatures is, I love how we're getting more and more creatures who just have 4 arms and 2 legs and they just use them for walkin.

Featherback Boar
Familiar
Featherback hunts can quickly turn deadly. These aggressive beasts don't go down without a fight!
4700
Undying Featherback
Familiar
Magic is required to slay an undying featherback and put it to rest.

Sable Feathercroak
Familiar
The springtime brings a symphony of loud croaks, as these creatures seek potential mates.
250
Harlequin Feathercroak
Familiar
A sassy companion that is capable of speaking only in pun.

hard to just pick a few, but these came to mind:

[item=glassbound solarvul] favorite familiar, hands down.
Honestly, the [item=frost delver] is also great. I find the feet particularly interesting. How does it move?
And finally, the [item=spellbound tome], a 6-winged book. I wonder what is written inside?
Due to their glass-like bodies, they are often preceded by a rainbow prism on sunny days.

Frost Delver
Familiar
This automaton has continued to work long after its pilot ran away.
10000
is also great. I find the feet particularly interesting. How does it move?

Spellbound Tome
Familiar
Using deft wings to dart here and there, this magical book just won't let anyone read it.

I'm a bit of a bird nerd, so the designs of the Talonok and Harpies (and all the other bird fams) really get me.

Raptorik Wanderer
Familiar
These beastclan emissaries act as guides in the great trek across the grasslands. Some tribes have allied with dragonkind to earn a steady income of gold.
2300
Stormclaw Showman
Familiar
This talonok creates a distracting display, allowing its allies a greater chance at a surprise strike!
2500
Condorwing Champion
Familiar
Trained from a very early age, these young harpy warriors are often far more seasoned in the ways of battle than rival beastclan counterparts.
2300
Mesacliff Assassin
Familiar
A wise dragon is wary of these blademasters; dodging the first strike can often leave one open to the second.
2725
Some of my other favorites:
Living Sculpture
Familiar
This marble sculpture moves to block the path of anyone trying to pass by.
1500
Spirit Armor
Familiar
This enchanted armor will roam ancient pathways, protecting the road's travelers.
1500
Veiled Vision
Familiar
The harpy beastclan often treats these spirits as natural allies, preferring to use their resemblance to scare away enemies.
1500
Pinpush Mirror Doll
Familiar
This couldn't possibly work... could it?
1500
Origami Steward
Familiar
It's becoming more popular for families of fae dragons to affix these papercraft masterpieces to the branches of the trees they make their lairs on. The sight of them swaying and flapping in the breeze can be a warm and welcoming sight to travelers returning home.
500
Bubbling Goblin
Familiar
The eyes of the Tidelord. (Wavecrest Saturnalia Holiday Familiar 2017.)
0
Aerborne Ambassador
Familiar
The grinning faces of kitsune are welcomed and beloved among the clans of the Windswept Plateau, many even living close by dragons for protection. (Mistral Jamboree Holiday Item 2019)

[img]https://flightrising.com/images/cms/familiar/art/14122.png[/img]
Most dragons are too large to practically ride a kelpie, and as such are regarded as allies, not prey.
250
Wood Ear Deer
Familiar
This creature has little in common with its mammalian namesake. Wood ear deer are cultivated to protect dryads' secluded groves.
2000
Longneck Gladiator
Familiar
Here for battle and glory! May it find both!
2500
Raptorik Herder
Familiar
Although agriculture and animal husbandry are rare on the savanna, some Raptorik beastclans have developed a way to lure herds into traps and enclosures for easy hunting.
