breeding lowering the dragons' coli stats. gen1 are buff monsters, gen10 get 10 intelligence points and an effort medal

... so dragons being vampires from Vampire: The Masquerade.
I guess it would make sense in a 'dispersion of power' kind of way.
How far away from being made by their god they were.

Genetics now go back all six generations, you might get great-great grandma's smirch instead of the glimmer of the two parents.

Dragons will now occasionally refuse to mate with each other - producing no nest, but triggering the breeding cooldown regardless. The longer they're in the lair next to each other, the less this will happen.

There's now a chance for hatchlings to be born with full basic genes, no matter what the parents had

I just wanted you to know how I laugh at it
This *is* a cursed idea XD
Also if I may contribute to the horror : all dragons can only be mated to a lifelong mate. Once it's chosen, no way you can remove it to change it. Magical bonding, you know.

All dragons retain a loyalty to their home flight. If a lair has a disproportionate amount of dragons from other flights in a lair, a mutiny will occur where they start steal food to send back home.
The mutiny can stopped by bringing in more dragons from your home flight to quell the mutiny or exalting all mutinous dragons. If a mutiny continues for five days, the mutineers exalt all your home flight's dragons and change your flight to whatever the new dominant flight is within your lair.

While you're playing Flight Rising, please remember to take care of yourself. You're loved, cherished, and are a human being with dignity and personhood. Also remember that there are many people in need of your love, your talents, your kind words, and your actions. You needn't advertise, but instead, advocate. Do your best to maintain healthy boundaries and to help those who need your help. In the end, love heals all wounds.

genes are completely random when a dragon is hatched and not dictated by their parents' genes at all.
dragons have a 50% chance of being infertile upon hatching
after 10 months, a dragon will grow old and die. this can be prevented by buying an Elixir of Life for $6 USD that will extend their life by five months. You can also buy the Premium Elixir of Life for $16 that extends the life for 15 months, however that requires you to be paying $25 a month for premium membership to flight rising.
Either Elixir must be applied before the dragon has died.
Starving dragons will become cannibals and eat other members of their clan starting with the youngest, until they are fed by the player or have eaten 5 dragons.
Young dragons may spontaneously decide to run away to someone else's lair for angsty teenager reasons. Sometimes you may end up with a random new dragon in your lair from someone else's lair. There is no way of tracking where your lost teenager dragon has gone and there is also a small chance that your dragon may die when running away.
At random, your lair may decide to develop a democracy and decide, without you controlling anything, which dragons to kick out, kill, move, or invite into their clan. Your dragons may develop certain laws that dictate how much treasure/gems you can earn, how many gathering turns you have, and how many dragons you can exalt per week.
Also completely random, a tyrant may move into your lair and take over. A tyrant will increase dragon deaths, will take random amounts of treasure away from you, and even incur the wrath of the deities by insulting them, resulting in you getting very few gatherings turns and the frequency of dragons leaving your clan getting higher.
dragons can now contract various different diseases at random, all ranging from practically harmless to life threatening. some diseases will spread if you do not contain infected dragons within a "quarantine" lair tab (premium mebership item, cost: $5 USD), and some diseases will remain dormant for long amounts of time without your knowledge, and suddenly spring up already having infected a large amount of dragons.
your dragons can also get various different parasites with different effects. one parasite causes extreme hunger and can only be removed with a premium membership item. this parasite will cause your dragon to starve and start killing off other dragons constantly if you don't kill/exalt the dragon.
Insanity is now a feature and can be passed through bloodlines, usually showing up every other generation. Insane dragons will have a higher chance of killing other dragons or running away. Insane dragons will attract tyrants, diseases, and parasites, however there is no way of telling which dragon has attracted the trouble. the only way of telling if a dragon is insane is if they start killing other dragons, usually after they've been bred a few times. starving dragons may also become insane.
Pirates now attack water clans if the clan has too much treasure/gems
Plague dragons are immune to disease, however non-plague dragons living in a plague clan are more likely to contract a deadly disease.
