TOPIC | Removing lore dragons?
1 2
I've done both.

If I really can't stand the dragon, I just get rid of them and give a new dragon the same lore. Or, much more often (and with lasting effect), just say they moved on and make a big event out of it. Sometimes it's fun to shake up the old lore, too. This dragon is basically my old blacksmith, except, of course, awesome--while my old blacksmith moved on. I don't apparently tend to keep any of my lore dragons that were a 1:1 lore switch with another dragon.

I was a few steps away from getting rid of this boy, but then I decided to give him one more shot. He got a new secondary and outfit. He's my best Bogsneak now. I had a pair I fell out of love with, but decided to give them another go. With this girl, it took a new UM accent and outfit. Her mate just got a new backstory.

I tend to keep my old dragons, unless I find their colors just unbearably boring. More often, I'll get rid of a dragon because it tugs my lore in a direction I didn't want... which is a separate situation.

I canonically kill them off. Sometimes I keep the actual dragon in my hibernation den, others I exalt or rename and sell. Alternatively, write something about them leaving the clan and then sell them.

Some I wrote out of lore, either as dying or deciding to do something else with their lives. A few ones recently I've just replaced the dragon and gave the new one the same lore.

I don't have any big intricate stories written down for my lore yet so it's not difficult for me to get rid of dragons if I need to.

If in doubt, kill them, canonically, and make interesting lore out of it.

@Ranthimi I've done both - touching up, as well as simply replacing! My most recent and most prominent example is my current Avatar Dragon - Leaf! I've had him since 4 years and he's my Clan Leader. Back then, when progens couldnt be brought back after exalting, I got him in honor of my first clan leader who was a female Mirror. I liked his colors and genes but... something about him / always / felt lacking. And when I could bring my progens back I still... didn't want to sell or exalt him - and I didn't wanna rip him of his clan-leader status. However - I knew that / one day / THE gene would release, which would hopefully make him perfect in my eyes. Fast forward to 3 weeks ago - and behold~! Words cant express how much I've fallen back in love with him - I feel this is what suits him and I'm SO happy I waited! ------- Ozean here, on the contrary, doesn't even have that much lore going on. She s simply a newer version of an old dragon which I replaced because I didn't want to afford the genes. Sometimes, breed changes or scatterscrolls are involved. I'm super cautious when I do that cause I don't want to spend that much money on a single dragon, but if it's a dragon who was super dear to me once, with whom I've just...fallen out of love... I'd do probably anything to bring the love back! Asante here got the Breedchange & Name-Change treatment. And I might have to rewrite her Lore - she used to be leader of a wildclaw pack, but now she's a gaoler.. but hey perhaps this makes her even more fancy, hehe~

Take note of all the important things they’ve done in lore, then asign those things to other dragons. You can spread out the roles or put them all in one dragon, what ever fits. Thats what I would do.

I replaced a dragon, copied lore and apparel, just different colors and genes. New: Old:
