“Should we tell someone?” Socks asked.
“Nope,” Stellei said. “It will ensure a more natural reaction to their appearance.”
Yet despite their not-so-subtle staring at partying dragons, and investigation into anything remotely spooky and unexpected, no creatures stirred in the shadows. At least, none that they noticed.
“Stop,” they saw Rose snap, pulling the now empty bowl of chips away from the masked pearlcatcher that had eaten them all and slamming the bowl back on the table. “We’re sharing.”
The pearlcatcher stuck its tongue out before darting off. Rose sighed, turning towards the bowl-
Where a slightly smaller pearlcatcher had picked it up, staring at Rose for a brief moment before shoving the entire bowl in its face and running off.
“WHY!” Rose screeched.
“This feels… uneventful,” Socks muttered.
“It is almost too quiet, isn’t it?” Stellei agreed, reviewing her notes. “Well. World-ending and or explosion wise, at least.”
“Yeah. When is the party going to turn from great to dangerous?”
“Maybe tomorrow,” Stellei said.
“But that’s so far aawwaaayyy-”
“Patience, my young friend. Patience.”

The party was in full swing, but something seemed...different about the area. There was a slight chill to the air when one wasn’t within the group of partying dragons, and everything seemed almost...darker in a way. Eh, but that wasn’t a problem was it?
Or maybe it was. Socks and Stellei were still on their mission, apparently having decided that one sight of a Shade creature meant there had to be more.
“Well obviously they love a good party. But what if they try to take over the world again?” Stellei was already deep into her own theory of why the Shade was reappearing, although it boiled down to one thing.
“We have to bring back the Astral Voygers.” Socks was ecstatic about bringing them back, although everyone continued to just say they were a story. “But the text! It said they would offer us their service. That something was going to happen! That’s why we are doing the ritual isn’t it?”
But they both couldn’t deny that they needed to have some more security on the case. Two lone dragons couldn’t take down the Shade, or Shade creatures that were hanging around. So with a few more guards, everyone was on high alert while all the other dragons didn’t know anything was wrong.
After a while, Socks and Stellei getting a little pent up that they weren’t finding anything, they saw it. A simple shadow at first, but that was when the lights went out. No not all of the neon glowsticks that everyone had, but the extra lights that were around. All the dragons cheered, but no one had planned that. It was only when the DJ booth went out that Socks yelled out, pointing a snout towards a hunched shadow in the corner.
“There!”
