I'm pretty disappointed that we don't even get a substantial reasoning for why we won't be given another opportunity to give older dragons the newer eyes. "We feel it's important" addresses none of the community's concerns, thoughts, or discussion on the topic.

As an older player, I don't breed dragons and very rarely collect new ones, so I have no way to utilize something I was very honestly excited for. The primal and multigaze eye types are some of the most interesting concepts that Flight Rising has added in a long time.

I'm genuinely confused by the fact that this is restricted to only new nests, when the sheer volume of dragons produced every day will result in none of the natural types being rare or special in a very short amount of time. If you were concerned with that being compromised by people just being able to buy it you could make it a treasure sink to preserve rarity. There's really no reason I can think of.

The scattersights were extremely disappointing; I had gotten Uncommon four times in a row and then Unusual twice in a row
on the same dragon before calling it quits. If this had not been an issue I would agree more with the decision to not add an alternative.

It just feels like a bit of insult that we're not being told more on a decision that a very large part of the community feels strongly about.

Quick question I haven't seen addressed anywhere: female Bogsneaks now look like they have no pupil on darker eye colours like Water and Nature common; was that intentional? The males seem fine, it's just the female ones like this.

May I ask if the current pupil issues were intentional? They really do appear very cloudy on certain breeds, and in one example (female Bogsneak I think?) Multi Sight restored the original pupil away from its cloudy-ness.

If they aren't, and they'll be fixed, that's reassuring- but right now in particular Guardian pupils seem to be missing.

Coaxing us into buying gems to waste on these Bossawful lootboxes with undeclared odds that'd make a casino blush? If that's the case, you'd make [i]even more[/i] if you just added guaranteed vials for Primal, Multi and Faceted to the gem store, because it'd go from a short-term rush to a long-term reliability - especially from people like me who spent every single gem (and treasure, and minute, and brain cell) they had on [i]absolutely swearing nothing[/i]. Doing the right thing by us would be doing the right thing by yourselves.

I'm glad to see you hear us! What I am actually very relieved to hear is that we simply misunderstood the purpose of the vials. They were just to give us some flavour to the dragons and not to really go full force with like any other item. At least with the chance of applicable items that change the eyes eventually, the loss of the vials seems okay. I'm sorry for any salt I may have mined!

Still disappointed that I won't be able to get new eyes for most of my dragons if any though.

are eye types like multi-gaze and faceted going to get scrolls/potions/whatever?

while i see the draw of having exclusive hatching eye styles, i'm sure a lot of people would like ways to apply the more interesting styles to older dragons who would benefit from them (either for lore reasons or appearance reasons), either through a specific item or through a randomized item with better rng. the rng on the scattersight vials was obscenely bad. i used upwards of 50 vials on the same dragon trying to get multi-gaze, and more often than not, it would roll the same style the dragon already had.

i can understand primal being a super rare hatch-exclusive eye type, as it more corresponds with the original intent of having this be due to the "extra magic" lore, but that seems unnecessary for the more simplistic styles like faceted and multi-gaze, especially considering faceted is nearly impossible to see on adult dragons.

Will we get future eyes types as a chance through breeding or will all future eye types only be obtainable through outside means like baldwin, swipp, marketplace, etc? I'd really love for some future types to happen through breeding as a mutation like these ones!


Gonna throw my opinion in here and say, I have gained a massive amount of respect towards staff for sticking to their word. You know what game you're creating. You know how you wanted these new eyes to play into things. It clashed hard with a portion of the playerbase, but you didn't cave. You stuck to your word and are retiring the vials, and keeping eyes a mechanic of breeding mutations. Even when I'm on the side of wanting change, I will always respect your guys sticking to your decisions and not altering the game you want to create.

This is great news! I'm really happy that you guys took the time to listen to us. Even though it's not what I would've done, I understand why you decided to make the eyes random and I'm okay with that as long as there is a way to return to common.
