so like I have a clan name already I guess but it just sounds cheesy and blegh so I want to know-

How/Why did you guys choose your clan names? What are they, do they have particular reference to your lore and/or specific dragons?

I named my clan after a character from Rune Factory 4. Her full name is Ventuswill but I just shortened it down to just Ventus since it has a nice ring to it I think. Clan Ventus. It also fits really well since she dons the title "The Divine Wind" and is a dragon herself.

So uh...big geek here, but...

It comes from my username. Dark Fliers are a class in a game called FIre Emblem: Awakening. (They are super cool ladies who ride flying horses and shoot fire out of their hands, but this is not super relevant.) Their ultimate skill is called Galeforce, which is absurdly powerful. So I definitely wanted to start with that.

I'm a Wind clan, so I wanted a word for a place where birds/flying creatures live. The wiktionary page of collective nouns reminded me that a bunch of predatory birds is called an eyrie. Clan is called Galeforce Eyrie.

:'3 My clan name comes from Final Fantasy 8, more specifically from the name of Seifer Almasy's Limit Break the Fire Cross~ XD; This is why part of my clan emblem is the red cross from his coat~ X3

Aside from me liking FF8, I picked it because one of my clan alphas is named after my boyfriend who I met as a Seifer cosplayer on GaiaOnline~ :'3 I also couldn't really think of anything else..xD;

My clan name is Pandora's Aquarium, which is a Tori Amos song. I don't really know how I started using it. I'm in Water now, but I wasn't when I chose that name. I was collecting dragons for a Tori Amos project for awhile, and maybe it was because of that?

Took me ages to come up with a clan name! It came about once I settled on the clan lore - simply put, some of the Fae came up with a way to channel their normal magical tendencies to enhance their physical ones, using magic as a physical weapon (i.e. thy're totally Strength trained in the Coliseum!). That magic style I eventually settled on calling Faeclaw...and from there it was a natural name for the clan.

2) You could check out the clan name generator. I see that you're in Plague, which has not been started, but Avalas has worked very hard to make the names generated make sense, so I'd recommend trying out Arcane or Earth - who knows, maybe you'll be inspired! And if you're not, you can ask to be pinged when the Plague generator is finished.
3) My clan name, Deoradhan-Kunibert, came about because I am a huge name nerd.
"Deoradhan-Kunibert" is a compound name: "Deoradhan" means exile or wanderer in Gaelic; "Kunibert" is derived from the Germanic elements "kuni", meaning clan, family and "beraht", meaning bright.

Essentially, the clan name means Exile-Wanderer's Bright Clan/Family.

I literally just thought of a name in my own language (Salainen Usva) and translated it to English, which turned out to be Arcane Mist. Seeing as how I'm in Arcane, that felt quite fitting so I stuck with it, although now that I think about it, it's actually pretty lame and not at all unique... Might have to think of a better one some time. I just have trouble coming up with a good one.
