Research And Development (R&D) Laboratories
Or, possibly more accurately,
Clan of the Mystery Machine

Tyrant, one of the progens, is infamous for her ambition. As what was known as Cathgear Clan migrated closer and closer to the Tempest Spire, her determination grew into a manic drive to best everyone, to find the one answer that would end all dominance wars forever. It wasn't enough to simply beat the others. It wasn't enough to win.

Sidcatha, her mate, watched in silence as she slowly gathered dragons together from every clan, interrogating them as thoroughly as possible on what they knew. She departmentalized the clan, setting each to working on figuring out new and improved ways to break physics through magic and magic through physics.

Any that could not contribute were thrown to work the Stormcatcher's assembly lines, or presented as fresh interns or test subjects.

(You can probably guess how Tyrant got her name. She likes it, to where it's all any call her now. Almost none of 'em remember her 'actual' name.)

With the still growing clan's new, prestigious location, Clan MM now owned a massive laboratory, and a long mystery machine sprawling most of the length of the lair's center that ran day and night no matter anyone's attempts to stop it. What did it do? Nothing, as far as anyone could tell. It's still being worked on, most of the original blueprints have vanished (or have they?) and it's full of levers that no one really is sure what they do anymore. So, instead of dismantling it, dragons just add to it in hopes of stabilizing force lines and fighting energies.

What WILL it do when it's finished? No one really knows that, either; with the introduction of warring magics, all anyone can do is theorize. Maybe nothing. Maybe it'll shield the clan's land forever from attack. Maybe it'll end the world. Maybe it'll be an eternal energy source. Maybe it'll heal anything that gets near it, or remove any need for hunger, or kill anything that gets near it. Maybe it'll short itself out and stop working, or explode.

For now, most dragons ACTUALLY use it to power reading lights, provide heat on cold desert nights, or impress friends with wild tales of what it "really" is supposed to do.

We are Caeleste Ventus of The Windswept Plateau. Caeleste Ventus is inspired by the latin terminology for Celestial Winds. The clan's hoarding lair is nestled in the Reedclift Ascent and the living lair is an Airship in the Twisting Crescendo that was crafted by magic and engineering.

The Matriarch is Miya and the Keeper is Nero.

Caeleste Ventus is a clan that supports and inspires all dragons apart of it's community to pursue their dreams and aspirations. To be unbound by chains of duty or reputation. The clan is wild and free and oh so curious. With feet on solid ground, wings stretched open and eyes lifted toward an endless horizon, all are welcome here.

@Cynictis , I've got two clans in the Arcane Territories within my group: Clan Wandering Mind/The Shrieking Nether Rogues (At least, those are the largest...)

Clan of the Wandering Mind (or just Clan Wandering Mind) is set up on the topside of a large, terraformed floating rock shifted around to make exploration easier and to keep stuff from dieing in its shadow. Its got bits of all different sorts of territories copied on it. Its lead By Newton and Brogan, and they're a bunch of peaceful scholars, alchemists, and artisans.

the Shrieking Nether Rogues on the other hand live in hiding in the caves of the hanging maze of spired rocks on the underside of the floating island, and are lead by a Flock of Shade Tainted Harpies: Primarily Nameless the Animal keeper, their leader who's also a bit of a mad scientist, making monstrosities to infect with the shade using raw elemental magics, and sometimes just careful breeding. Some of her followers are not shade touched but follow willingly, unknowing of the darkness within.

Recovering from strokes I had in 2017. Be careful about over working yourselves, you never know what biological conditions you have that may force you to take a LONG break.

Mine is Infiralem! Originally founded by a Light-born spy seeking refuge from persecution, it grew into a small camp for the vagabonds, refugees, and even criminals of Sornieth. Very few of the members are permanent, leaving for days, weeks, or even years before returning, but if they do decide to return they can be certain they'll be met with a warm welcome.

The smiles are all an act, of course. With each member originating from a different clan with a different creed, spats and feuds are just an ordinary part of the camp's life. With any luck they'll pass without incident, but so many outcasts of the criminal underground find their homes in the darkness of the lair that the unlucky are doomed to meet a much more gruesome fate...

With no clear leaders and little documentation, the rules are subject to change, but the dragons staying there have come to a relative consensus.
  1. All are welcome to seek shelter here. If you have a problem with someone, take it up with them yourself.
  2. Killing guests or their familiars is unacceptable. As soon as they have officially taken their leave, all bets are off.
  3. Do not steal the belongings of guests in the camp.
  4. You must treat fellow guests as though they were members of your own clan... or whatever it is that you respect. Letting another starve or bleed to death is the same as killing them.
  5. Anyone who violates the four rules above is exempt from all of them.
Of course, there are exceptions. Pomme packs enough brute force to do whatever she wishes, although fortunately she is one of the most outspoken advocate of the rules and won't break them without good reason. Aquafarious, the clan's founder, was eventually let off the hook after a dispute over whether personal information counted as a belonging. And Vanguard certainly seemed suspicious when he was found standing over the bodies of Severus and Stone, a pair of Fae twins who had visited earlier... he claimed he was mourning.

One might question why such a sinister bunch would settle (or perhaps stay) within the bounds of the Sunbeam Ruins. The first is that it was already there, if mostly because denizens of the Lightweaver's realm will pay a pretty penny to an adept spy, and Aquafarious wanted to stay close to her deity anyways. The second is that no one can agree on anywhere better to go. The third is its easy access; with an entrance in the side of the ruins' northmost cliffs and on top of it as well, it makes for a remote but not unwelcoming location. Good luck figuring out where it is, though. Unless you're lucky, you'll only find it through word of mouth, and most of the camp's inhabitants are wary about who they share its whereabouts with.

(WOW THAT WAS LONG I'M SORRY)

@Cynictis I followed this from WotW. I must say, this is AWESOME. I love the fact there is a directory of all clans on FR and what faction they are under. It's actually good since the map is down. Name: Clan Arcane Moon Faction/Affiliation: Arcane Deity: Arcanist Location: Outskirts of the Starwood Strand Matriarch: Sunspire Patriarch: Genji Mascot: Rune Royal Adviser: Carrier Warriors: Ray, Apocalypse, Light, Mar, Incandescent, Devika, Solar, Rapture, Creed, Captain, Hyperion, Caramel And Karat. In depth: Clan Arcane Moon is a moderately large pack of dragons governed by the hot headed, cynical matriarch, Sunspire and Patriarch, Genji. She's temperamental, protective, fierce and intolerant of foolishness. She also has a deep seeded hatred for Plague. Especially the flight, despite she has under certain circumstances, taken in stray dragons of Plague descent. Their little menagerie of orphans is hidden deep away inside a hidden valley which sits just outside the Starwood Strand. Deep in a little nook within this valley sits a grotto the massive entrance to Arcane Moon Clan. Surrounded by lush foliage, rolling hills and crystal waters, the clan lives the peaceful life under the watchful eye of their matriarch and patriarch. Their valley is considered sacred and trespassers will be dealt with swiftly. Here they prosper, cultivate the land and learn to be industrious all their own. Rarely does the clan rely on resources of other clans, though they will trade and associate with other clans within the Arcane faction. Sunspire refuses to deal with Plagues or Plague clans. She loathe dragons of that flight and has a particular distaste for the Plague Bringer. Being a Mirror and a descent of that land, she rebuke her origins long ago and took up the scholarly way of the Arcane flight, pledging her life to the Arcanist and a life of research and peaceful ways. Though if trended upon, she will become volatile and hotheaded, the epitome of a tempest should anyone threaten her or the clan. Her life mate, Genji has to be a voice of reason during times of detest, especially when her patience has been tested. She also relies on the advisement from her confidant, Carrier during tough decision making regarding the clan and politics. She is also known for taking in abandoned or clanless dragons. Has even been known to pardon Plague dragons under certain circumstances. Though this isn't always the case. Sunspire tends to keep the clan safe guarded from the world, hoping to keep purity among her charges without allowing outside influences to pollute their tranquility. Little else is known about Clan Arcane Moon aside the infrequent contact from other clans and what other dragons have been able to learn about Sunspire and her charges. Being secretive leaves little knowledge and much to be learned. Of the Lightning Flight, we are a clan known as Mirror's Light, a sanctuary primarily for Mirror Dragons, but welcoming to other breeds with open arms. All dragons in Mirror's Light are treated as family, under the leadership of Havaz and his mate Miifa.

“Listen to the trees as they sway in the wind. Their leaves are telling secrets. Their bark sings songs of olden days as it grows around the trunks. And their roots give names to all things. Their language has been lost. But not the gestures.” ― Vera Nazarian
