It's the theory that the intensity of the colour represents how well they fit their colour category. Eg. Medic (green - helping role) and Cultist (yellow - religious role) were both very bright colours, and fit their category very well. Also, Roleblocker, another bright role (blue - wincon-dependent role), if the blue category is correct, also fits very well.
