Potential Claim (Is Reaper or Technicolor available for this game? Just checking in since they have lore but don't specify the answer to my question.)
Edit: Claim! Someone from my lair wants to flirt with Spine here :D Currently working on short story...
Allison flirts with
Spine
Completed short story found below. This is actually my first attempt at flirting with anything so sorry if it's trash XD I've never really read nor written a romance piece before either so I'm starting with a subject I'm comfortable with before shifting over to some brief flirting. (Sorry if I botched Spine's personality as well, either way, I tried ^^')
Short Story
Allison drove back from the rising hoards of the undead as score after score of the vile beast rose up around her. Clawing their disgustingly slimy hands through the grungy dirt as their malformed appendages gripped at her heels and limped towards her through the dead of night. Lightning streaked around them as their fight raged on and boulders came crashing down from the sides of the cliffs around them as she fell one vile being after another. The thuds of their lifeless bodies silenced by the roaring thunder and cracking boulders which were all around.
Unfortunately, even she knew, she couldn't fight them forever, sure, they were weak... but there was always strength in numbers, and for every one she slayed another four rose up to take it's place. If she was ever going to end this she needed to destroy the source. The source that had plagued her homeland for centuries, the source that had kept her on the run all her life... the source that had claimed the lives of so many she loved.
Her trusty blade Dawnbreaker gleamed furiously into the night as it's blinding white rays alerted her to the presence of the damned. "Oh for God's sake! How many of these things are there!?" she questioned out loud to herself as her sword cleaved another three corpses in two.
Swinging around to lock eyes with her quarry her stormy blue orbs caught sight of the crumbling cliff as the Lich King openly mocked her progress, causing her eyes to flare in pure fury.
9,000, literally 9,000 of these corpses had hit the ground in this fight alone, exploding into a cloud of nothingness by the tip of her blade and this, this... Creature dares to laugh!?
"Hey, you bloody coward! Why don't you stop flying and fight me like a man huh!?" she questioned irritably, pointing the tip of Dawnbreaker towards the floating corpse "Or are you afraid to die? Scared a mortal can kill you after all you've done? Tch." Seeing how the Lich was hardly interested in conversation and only drew further away the female took a step towards the towering cliff side.
She had been following this beast for years now and if the hunt continued for a second longer she was going to lose her sanity "How pathetic... Well, if you won't come to me then..." she rushed towards the crumbling cliffside as a nagging presence clouded her thoughts.
"Wait, show patience." "I guess I'll come to you!"
Another lightning bolt crashed against the cliff, just barely missing her as she hesitated from the helpful whisper heard deep within the depths of her mind. "Huh!" she breathed out in shock and stepped back from the gaping hole which plunged into the depths of nothingness as another hand ripped through the earth, mere inches from the edge "Thanks..." she mumbled out to the ghostly whisper, the presence sent it's regards before disappearing once more. "Funny how helpful that
Reaper can be." she mumbled to herself, thankful that the reaper had decided to help her yet again.
He seemed less like a reaper and more like a friend by this point, but there was always the chance he was helping her to avoid having more live corpses to bury and more souls to claim.
He helped her to stay alive and she returned the favor by slaying the very creatures which had taken everything from her, to put an end to the ones who had claimed her family's life. Her mother, her sister, her father... even her love... all of them had…” Allison’s teeth gritted together as a tear fell from her eye. The faces of her family members flashed before her, their smiles bright and faces filled with hope before pure terror streaked across their expressions and screams crowded the air. The vile laughter of the Lich above her filled the sky as the voice of the reaper told her not to lose hope… but how can you keep on fighting when?
“No… no, not you.” Allison whispered as the hand that shot up in front of her clawed it’s way out of the dirt and revealed the owner on the other side. It’s head split open down the center as chunks of brain fell out the side and it’s hollow, lifeless eyes stared deep into her soul. The pure white orbs held no emotion, no pity… no freedom. The lifeless corpse would never move on and all the Rifter could do was fall to her knees with a scream of agony at not only the sight, but what the sight meant. “NOT MY SISTER!” she howled out as her blade hit the ground and a series of erratic blasts of white light shot off of her own body.
The corpse shambled towards her, it’s bright red tongue lolled out as the disgustingly wet splosh of brains hitting the dirt was heard. The Rifter hesitated, how could she bring herself to kill the only sibling she ever had?
”No, not kill, she’s already dead. You’re only ending it’s misery my friend. Allison, whatever you do don’t stop fighting.”
“I… I can’t… I can’t kill her.” another sob racked through her as she violently shook her head in her conflicted state. The corpse was growing closer and closer as the female continued to hesitate.
”If you don’t kill it you’re going to die!” the voice growled, a tone of worry filling it’s voice as Allison whimpered in response.
”Remember your promise! What did you promise them you’d do if the Lich ever caught them!? What did you all agree on!? Wouldn’t you want the same? Wouldn’t you want your misery to end!?”
Allison’s heart clenched up at his words, they had promised to kill each other… to end the curse on them all even if it hurt. Oh, and it hurt, it hurt so much she couldn’t bring herself to breath as the blade was placed gently against her own hand.
Without thinking, without giving herself a chance to change her mind she took the blade from the ally beside her and held the blade up, pointed the tip at her sister’s head, just between her eyes, locked eye contact with her, and froze.
Her siblings eyes stared back at her, for just a moment she could have sworn that a piece of her sibling was still there as it’s jaw wobbled around and it’s teeth clattered against it’s bloody tongue. But in that moment of silence between them, in that moment as all sound was lost, just before she could consider pulling back the corpse of her sister leaned forward, appeared to chatter some incoherent sentence between it’s agonized breaths, and leaned itself into the sword till a sickening crack filled the air and rotten blood seeped along the edges of her blade. The Rifter needn’t move a muscle as the thing killed itself.
Overwhelmed by confliction and despair Allison knew that her sister would have thanked her, that it’s what she would have wanted, but it hurt so much, it hurt so much she couldn’t bare it.
If anything else that monster would pay, if it was the last thing she did that Lich was going to die. Screaming out in pure inconsolable rage the Rifter plunged her blade through her own flesh, right through her stomach as the ally beside her drew in a startled breath of disbelief. “Finally… it’s time this finally ends!” Allison screamed out as Dawnbreaker’s light exploded through her and launched them both high into the air.
The Reaper didn’t have time to think as Allison tore the blade from her own flesh and plunged it through the gem around the Lich’s neck and deep into it’s hallowed chest. Another explosion ripped through the two as a sickening grin crossed the Rifter’s face and the phylactery of the Lich, in the form of the gem stone, shattered into pieces before piercing it’s own heart.
“How’s that feel, huh?” Allison chuckled before falling from the sky and slamming hard against the ground. The Reaper stood in disbelief for a moment before approaching the two. He collected the soul of the Lich, damning it to an eternity in a hellish afterlife. Then glanced down at the lifeless body of the Rifter below him
”It’s not over, there’s still a chance for you… it’s not your time to die.”
*Two Weeks Later*
Allison’s eyes fluttered open as clouds of white blurred her vision and a gentle humming rung against her ears. “Ugh.” she heaved a heavy breath and sluggishly moved her head as a gentle hand stroked her hair, it was freezing but she knew she was still alive… or at least, she thought she was?
Soft coughing racked her ribs and an itchy air filled her lungs as her vision cleared and she took the time to observe her surroundings. It was obviously a graveyard but the place was so well kept, and she wasn’t underground. The chilly air blew softly against the pale grass and the branches of a bare tree rattled in the breeze.
“Where am I?” she croaked out before looking down to see her midriff covered in a bloody bandage. Was she saved? Why would someone help her out of that hoard of undead?
“You’re home, welcome back to the land of the living.” the voice chuckled, that voice was so familiar… could it be? “R-Reaper?” she questioned “Nooo~” the voice slyly replied “Guess again~”
“Very funny” she huffed “You never told me your name… and you know as well as anyone that this isn’t my home” she grumbled. There was a long pause as the hand continued to stroke her head “You’re right~ Most everyone living knows me by the name of death… but you can call me Spine~”
Allison released another chuckle, it hurt but… she was here “Ok, Spine, do you mind telling me why you saved my life?” she questioned. Another long pause occured as the female lightly stroked her bandaged midriff before flinching. This was going to leave the nastiest scar, nothing but a giant scab replaced where her skin once was along her stomach.
“You know… I really have no idea, perhaps you’ve grown on me… and before you ask, no, you’re not dead.” “Oh, what a relief!” Allison responded with a roaring laughter, nothing but sarcasm filled her tone “I’ve got so much to live for now that the Lich is dead. I suppose the best thing to do is to return… Oh wait, that’s right, I don’t have a home anymore. It was destroyed by that Li-” she was interrupted as Spine’s free hand placed a finger to her lips and shushed her.
“Just focus on healing, the last thing I need is another corpse.”
*Four Years Later*
Allison had grown quite close to Spine in the time it took her to heal, and closer still through their future battles, whatever reason he had for taking an interest in her she couldn’t tell… but he had saved her life, and he had given her a home. If anything was worth living for it was that right?
Still, he was rather eccentric and when they weren’t out hunting necromancers and the undead he was either nowhere to be seen or messing with some sort of corpse somewhere. Just what in the world was it about that guy that drew her to him? Was it the bond they shared in battle or something… something more? Perhaps it was the loneliness in her heart which cried for a new meaning now that the old one had been destroyed.
“Well, well, well, look who’s here~” Spine’s voice rumbled deep within his own lifeless chest as Allison sauntered on up to him “Feeling better?~”
Instead of responding Allison leaned forward and gently took his left shoulder in her left hand before plucking out a candied piece of cherry flavored chocolate from her Journeyman Satchels “I’m not sure Spine, do you want to find out~” she chuckled back as she gently placed the piece of chocolate against his jaw.
He seemed bewildered by her behavior but that didn’t stop her from taking hold of his hood, something he was normally quite protective of, and carefully pulling it away from his head so she could see his facial features “I’m not really sure if someone’s told you this before but… you’re kind of cute~” she chuckled yet again as he chomped on the chocolate she had given him “Would you mind spending an eternity together?~”
“Not over my job.” he scoffed “Of course not~ you can put the dead to rest… and I’ll destroy the corruption of this world…” she was obviously referencing her work in destroying necromancers and the undead “I think we’d make quite the pair, don’t you?~” she began to wonder just how much he knew about the bond they were beginning to share.
Next Person: If you do reply I'd absolutely adore seeing some derg flirt with Allison. She's straight but I'm not stopping a female derg from flirting with her if they want to.
