(this took about three hours) Alrighty. Here you go. Cytherlings: Lore: Cytherlings are some of the most advanced forms of synthetic dragons in existence. They do not have organic bodies, but fit the following criteria (which are used as the standard of life): They contain genetic information that is passed directly down from generation to generation. They can obtain energy from their surroundings and convert it into an energy they can store and use. They can sense and respond to changes in their invironment. They can reproduce without the use of parasitism. (this little bit is kinda just there to lop off virii, but it also gets rid of many protists and worms that depend on other organisims to reproduce.) On top of that, they are sentient, rational, have a sense of concept, and can function as normal dragons. They also have no intention of rebelling or enslaving/genocide of any form. They view it as less efficent than "doing it themselves", and as a result, often create a "sub-clan" of their own that salutes the clan's practices and whose members are considered part of said clan, but they often operate as two seperate clans. Cytherlings also have two "brains" the one in the head is used for comunication, expressing emotion, and sensory. The other "brain is in their lower body and preforms tasks such as movement, timing and diagnostics. All cytherlings however, have flaws, quirks, and a sense of pain to make them more dragonlike. This also makes them view themselves as equals to dragonkind, having the same abilities and weaknesses as normal dragons. The one main difference is that Cytherlings require regular "idle time" in which they will just immobilize under a source of bright light or electrical energy, drawing power from it. Using a base code he found in BrightBlade's "starship", their Sornieth designer, Stratus, (a Fae with no sense of magic, but a ingenious roboticist), managed to augument the code to conform to sornieth dragons. Requirements: Breed: Any except wildclaw male and female (NO LAZER RAPTORS!!!!!) Primary Gene: Metallic Secondary gene: Alloy Teritary Gene: circut Color pallette: any, but some are more appealing to various users, wings are typically a black/dark grey (solar cells imbedded into wing membranes) Eye-type: Common, Dark scelera, glowing, and faceted eye types are ideal. GOAT, MULTI GAZE, AND SWIRL ARE BANNED BECAUSE THEY ARE TOO ORGANIC-LOOKING!!!!! Gaoler requirements: until a metallic, alloy, and circut mimicgene is added for the Gaolers, certain skins/accents must be used (although finding machinoid skins shouldnt be a problem given that the thundercrack carnivale starts tomorrow) Variants among breeds: Bogsneak: Cytherlings mimicking this breed have managed to obtain complete stealth in high-traffic environments and, contrary to their organic counterparts, live in small groups. Due to their favor of dark, damp places, they are often rendered wrecks within months of maturing. However, the ones that do try to fix themselves often end up so augumented that they are hard to recognize as a former bogsneak. Coatl: Cytherling coatls favor dull, grey, blue, black and white colors, viewing other colors as impractical and unnesecarry. They also favor the cold instead of the heat, which is often dangerous in locations such as the ashfall waste and Shifting expanse. They are horrible linguists, often speaking entirely in synthesized noises created by their mechanichal "brains" (think like R2-D2). They do, however, understand most cyphers. Fae: Cytherling Faes have almost no sense of emotion or feeling, causing them to be viewed as Apathetic, even when compared to their biological mimics. They also have an understanding of magic, but favor prophecy instead, calculating thousands, even millions of possible outcomes (they call them outcomes. not alternate futures). They also finction similarly to a CPU tower, using other cytherlings and electrical items to boost their ability or even to use as tools and weapons. They are the only form of Cytherling that can manually take control of other bots, golems and machines (kinda long the lines of "do not give one a railgun and expect to live of you taunt it to the point of a fight"). Gaolers: The only flaw in Gaolers is their synthetic fur coat, which is often made up of polymers. Their coat is often torn apart by various incidents and fights, exposing the inner machinery. They are also most like their organic doppelgangers in personality and mindset. A new gaoler cytherling (often called a furball due to it having not lost any of its hair yet) when mixed with a real gaoler would be inmpossible to tell apart...until the cytherling gaoler started to lose fur during a fight or incident. Guardians: Guardian Cytherlings have no beard, regardless of age, charge, or any other differing factors. Their charge is determined by the amount of charges they have considered, their age, how long they have been on search, and several RNGs. Imperial: Imperial cytherlings often never say anything their entire lives. Yes. Cytherling emperors have been reported before, mostly in the ashfall waste, where electronic shorts and outer flesh melting causes them to fuse, increasing the cance of a malfunction as well as the tension in the clan. The incidents have also been reported mostly by pearlcatchers (see below). Imperial cytherlings are relentless. if they feel a task needs to be done, they will work on the task until it is done or they "die" (rusting to death, shutting down from lack of idle time, or a variety of other causes. a few have been known to drown trying to shore up clans on the coast of Sornieth during more powerful storms and hurricanes.) Imperial Cytherlings also do not have issues with any kind of dragon and will coexist with any breed or flight. However, organic Imperials are often fear them. This fear mostly stems from the possibility of an emperor. Mirror: Unlike other cytherlings, Mirrors have a unique digestive chamber that allows them to produce effective chemichals from consuming biomass, making them much hardier than most cytherlings. They, to the dissapointment of most dragons (and alarming joy of others), retain their violent, ever-hungry mentality. However, they prefer to scream along the sky just above the ground, tackling prey and eliminating it in only a matter of seconds. Devoughring a kill, whoever, takes hours and none of the animal is ignored. Even the bones and hair is "digested" Nocturne: Cytherling Nocturnes will often, instead of simply imitating dragons, will mimick them exactly. This includes everything from the gait of one of the dragons to the voice of another. This has mixed opinions as large quantaties of Cytherling nocturnes will often be completely nonfunctional if another, non-nocturne dragon is never present. Pearlcatcher: A Cytherling Pearlcatcher's pearl is, as a matter of fact, nonremovable. This is because it is a "third brain" that records and stores information of the surrounding area. Theese little tidbits of information that the "pearl" can pick up can be anything from odors, snippets of conversation, even the texture of an object or the presence of a certain gas or fluid. This is what allows Cytherling pearlcatchers to blend in among both other pearlcatchers and the rest of dragonkind. Ridgies: Like normal ridgebacks, Cytherling ridgebacks have no sense of ownership. Because of this, they will often obtain an item, use it, and then return it in the exact state it was in before they apprehended it. This can frustrate dragons who are used to normal ridgebacks when they look for a nonexistent stockpile and end up discovering that the item looked like it never left its place. The one problem is that when looking for an item, they will ignore any items that are not in question, leaving an egregious mess for the next visitor. Skydancer: Cytherling skydancers are some of the most skilled dragons at understanding, and movement in air. Their gemstone is actually a small cam that allows them to record treasured or critical moments and memorize them for later. This is often used as evidence. Their skills are also, in a sense, superior to that of a normal skydancer. They can maintain flight even after flying through a hole that looks too narrow for a dragon. If it is wider than they are or as wide, they will be able to fit through the hole and stay airborne without trouble. However, they are exceptionally vulnerable to bein controlled by thoer dragons and creatures, wether it is that they are hijacked by beastclans, overridden by a Cytherling Fae, succumb to hypnosis, or simply become the target of a spell of compliance. Snapper: Cytherling snappers are quite possibly the only despized type of cytherling. They may have excellent memory capacity, but a digital hole cause them to often form it into "When i was a youg whip-ker-shnapper" yarns that will drive any dragon nuts within minutes. They are also, virtually indestructible causing dragons to call them "toughies". This is often used as an insult of their stubborn nature as they continue to follow the dragon they are trying to talk to until their explanation is over rather than their physical durability. Spiral: Spiral Cytherlings are the most relentless of all cytherling forms. A single spiral us often enough to move anything, however, even their attempts are unable to move Cytherling snappers. However, when entering an idle stata, they will become ramrod straight instead of coiling up. They do this because the do not have much power storage is different from other cytherlings (series versus parallel), allowing them to do a lot more than other cytherlings, but preventing long function times and making nightime function almost impossible. They do try to avoid hitting anyone when they become idle, but incidents happen. (for a better representation, find a bot that randomly makes edits to the song "waluigi pinball" and listen to the music the said bot creates (there is probably one on scratch)) Tundra: Cytherling tundras will often remain silent for errie periods of time, creating unsettling amounts of silence. They are also the only type of Cytherling (besides pearlcatchers) that can process odors and the presence of certain chemichals. This allows them to know when they have hit any potentially dangerous minerals or gasses, as well as any presence of the shade. They are also the only other cytherling that can "digest" biomass (the other one being mirrors). Unlike mirrors, however, they cannot handle consumer items, and they only consume plant and fungal material. They also abhor bugs of any type (even digital ones) and have a extreme desire to rid them en masse. This can be a problem for insect-eating dragons, who, as a result, will often punish the cytherlings by leading a Cytherling snapper to them. In the eyes of most dragon, that is one of the worst punishments imaginable, but to the tundras, it is a dragon that just stands there and talks. This means that it does absolutely nothing to help or harm the system.
