Never actually listened to this song despite loving P!ATD. While it does start off more sad, I had the idea of a cheerful happy girl, dressed in bright colors on the streets of LA. To convert that to a dragon, I found a cheerful looking one, Spiral was perfect! Then I found my verse to focus on which would help me with colors, 'sunset bungalow' reminded me of one of my newest Lair additions, a Sunset Petals hatchling, and figured the colors would be perfect! I found I really wanted it to be lighter but the petals looked so good and the name of the color fit so I went with it. I wanted to make her look like an actual drink of paradise, but I couldn't really figure out how to get the blue on her correctly, so I decided to focus on 'Nights at the chateau' for her secondary color, trying to find a gene that shows orange. Eventually I settled on Marigold Noxtide and it fit the colors well, and in my opinion, gave the design a tiny bit of an edge, the black showing that she's not just all happy and bright colors. Then I focused on the lyrics '"Put your blood on ice"', for this I wanted to do a darker red, blood perhaps, for a tert color. After a bit of blood not working, I changed my tactics to a shade of red Capsule, the idea of it being blood but also relating to the 'Drink of Paradise' line! My first idea was to do a common red & white pill, then I decided to make it pastel to fit the cuteness of the girl's voice! (So really only red went pastel, ahaha) I decided to do a hatchling Coatl because they're just so cute, also pill shaped, but mainly cute! I think she really embodies innocent love in a way? I decided the song really didn't seem sad enough for a Pearlcatcher and decided to do a female Skydancer because they're not as sad, but they have a certain gentle sharpness to them.
