At WindSky Weyr, family is important, and it's sometimes found family. I have some of my tightest under the Besties tab in my Den. Slancheth, however, is in my main lair, as he is a Windchanter with active responsibilities. Little venomous will often be found underfoot, though is as likely as not to have slinked off somewhere to continue planning world domination. At least, until his adoptive Dad gets home to rein in his delusions of grandeur! But though the kid can be wild, they know who has the other's back! That's a spitting menace you would not want to trigger; it's only happened once when a visitor threatened to wring the pesky tot's neck, and looked about to follow through. He regretted that, and did not contest his eviction! Absolutely these two. This is gonna be a bit of a read, apologies. Virak (bottom) was originally born and lived in a clan; he trusted this original home with everything, and thought that, through thick and thin, they could handle anything. He Was Wrong. To put it short, there was someone in his original clan that basically destroyed his life, and those he thought were capable did nothing to stop that individual; to say he was upset was an understatement. He Felt Betrayed. He did snap one day, abandoning his old home and everything he knew, basically tearing his being to shreds. Having no one else and having no idea where to go, Virak practically lived in the wild for a few months, eating what he caught and sleeping where he couldn't be. That is where Reclusia (top) came in. She was returning from a trip to the market when she found him, halfway to becoming hypothermic on the side of the road. Immediately she urged him to follow her back to her bar to nurse the stranger back to health, even with his obligations. It took quite a while for her to gain Nocturne's trust after it was so thoroughly shattered by his past, but she proved in many ways that she was the right person to turn to; handling situations quickly and with a strong heart before they got out of control, while also helping Virak heal his ability to believe in others. Today, they share a bond stronger than tungsten metal, Virak thankful that Reclusia never gave up hope with him, and Reclusia in turn being thankful for him entering and changing her life.

I shared Aida on a different day, but here she is again. [emoji=gold star size=1] She has a strong bond with her faithful assistant Oleander, a Mistyhollow Agent who fits the Shadow stereotypes of conniving, deceitful, and self-serving. She met him on her first trip through the Tangled Wood, in which he did nothing but lie and try to gain something he could leverage against her (which she was aware of the whole time). Despite that, she saved him when he was a hair's width away from death. Twice. Moved by her compassion and mercy, he pledged his loyalty to her. She was skeptical, but over time they became inseparable, and Oleander has gained enough trust to handle her pearl without asking first. If he has some spare time, he will gleefully polish it and brag about the privilege of doing so. I don't really know their story yet, but there has to be a special bond between Grayhawk the Warrior and his little gray cat...

I have these two brothers from the same nest. I can't imagine letting them leave my lair, nor would I want to separate them. AND they're apart of my larger family of dragons that were hatched on the same day eight years ago. December 14: Unbreakable Bond Cantor and Pravuil have always loathed each other deeply, both on a personal and a professional level. It started mostly because Cantor had a moral compass and Pravuil did not. They nonetheless have a strong bond, forged when their sorcerer-queen went insane with power and they decided to team up and stop her. It took them ages; they managed to do it anyway; and nowadays, while their hatred for each other fits them like a warm and cozy blanket, they're both fully confident that they've got each other's backs. Ever since they joined the clan, they had been trying to catch the attention of the head baker, Sleipner, in hopes of apprenticing under him. Sleipner begrudgingly agreed after Neatherrose kept taking ingredients from his kitchen for a cooking competition. He has been teaching the young Aether ever since and is impressed at their growth (though he will never willingly admit it). The mentor-apprentice duo are a hoot to watch when they're together. Sleipner is very no-nonsense and likes to keep things orderly in his kitchen while Neatherrose is a ball of excitable energy and tends to get wrapped up in a lot of chaos!
