The Third Year

Two years ago, I started running this December Daily Dragon Share as a spur of the moment decision on December 1. I didn't think it would be as popular, but it reached over 50 pages and 500 posts. It really meant a lot to me that there were so many participants, since I was feeling really low before I made the thread. It was my first time making a thread like that but I wanted to do it to soak in the holiday spirit and feel better. And it worked for me! I started perking up and felt better than I did before, and I hope that I can help others feel the same by bringing this thread back. I know a lot of us need it more than ever this time.

Every day I will be posting a theme that in some way relates to the holiday season, and I invite you to have fun and share your dragons. I may not reply individually but I will genuinely be reading every post and I GUARANTEE I will give a like to every dragon so come get some free likes!!! Some timely themes will be recycled from past years, but I'm planning on introducing new ones as well.

No strict rules, just earnestly match the theme and have fun. You are allowed to participate in past days & post the same dragon more than once!

Just as a reminder, in this thread you may encounter other people's dragons with certain eye types, genes, or breeds. If this alarms you, please proceed with care!

Our First Holiday Together

Let's start off by giving a warm welcome to our newest dragons! There were three new breed releases this year, and if you're anything like me, you couldn't resist getting at least one of them. Share up to 5 dragons you added to your lair this past year.

This was the first fathom I got. After reading over the event and their lore, I just had to expand my pirate crew to make room for him. Crocodile hunts for sunk treasures!

After that, I made the decision to add a few more dragons to my pirate crew. This is Hurricane, the big scary guardian who's actually a cowardly gentle giant and finds comfort in music.

And Salinity! I don't know why but their addition really hyped me up to the point where I drew some art for her (very rare).

Moving on from pirates, my Dusthide Rollo! I haven't done much with them yet... I'm disappointed they stopped doing ancient introduction stories because they really helped me understand them more and get in the mood for developing my own.

And finally, my unnamed, ungened everlux that I spent too much time and money trying to get my hands on XD I still can't decide which gene plan to go with! She's kind of just sitting there for now.

Oh this is great! I started an challenge this year where I collect every XXX color Dragon in order, so I’ve added over 60 new dragons haha

Thermisia- she was a surpise xxy hatch that I kept, waiting for an idea what to do with her- and then along came the everlux release. I think she actually looks a bit festive for the season?

Glaundir- bought specially for that beautiful accent.

Kugelblitz-just hatched a lightning egg for the achivement, and the secondary matched the rare eye color so well, so I turned her into this lightning baby.

Fathomfin, my clanbound fathom hatch.

NightTide- I actually remembered to make a leap day dragon this year!

Dulcet is my birthday hatch from this year, shortly after the release of Dusthides. Obviously, I had to make her one.

Ponder was hatched from one of my Everlux eggs. I found her tricky to gene, but I found something I really like and spent a week or so living in the Coliseum to get her primary. Worth it.

Aethers remain my favourite breed (though Everlux is mounting a challenge), so I was super excited for the gene expansion and hatched an egg the next day to celebrate. And thus Query was born, the fun little charmer that he is.

Since it was a Leap Year, I had to hatch something on that special extra day. And I luck was with me, as the amazing Sculpture was born. A beautiful, matchy double.
