Aquaris had located the pawprints of the slender Skydancer. With a determination that had made him so successful in his deadly occupation, he pursued Psyche … and found her. Or rather, her camp. But this was good enough. For she had left a small female Pearlcatcher behind as she went out to hunt, not suspecting that he was here. Aquaris snatched up his heiress, debating whether to lie in wait for Psyche.

No. He could not afford to lose the small hatchling. He did not know anything about Psyche other than that she was a Skydancer, probably female. Aquaris had always thought himself of a higher intelligence, and he would return later to track down Psyche.

He brought the hatchling back to his lair, and named her Envy. The little hatchling, indeed, lived up to her name. At a young age she, too, began terrorizing her mother. Spectra could do nothing; Aquaris adored his progeny, in a way. He taught her his craft, the art of murder. She grew to be as cold–blooded as her father.

When she was grown, and working alongside her father, they moved closer to Clan Shadowed Skies and Envy, during a hunt, found another Pearlcatcher. Just as Aquaris had wooed Spectra, Envy lured Mordecai in. He confided in her, and the two seemed to become friends. And soon, mates. Eggs became involved. And with that, Envy had trapped Mordecai.

It was so easy — Envy was delighted, keeping Mordecai like a bird in a silver cage. Sometimes she was sweet to Mordecai, but her mood could change in half a second, and her mood would turn ugly. Mordecai, though, was smarter than the father and daughter had thought; in no way was he like Spectra. He waited. Mordecai never dared disobey, as Envy kept his pearl as hostage. And Aquaris looked on in pride at his daughter, a monster like him.

Envy has found a mate, Mordecai, and will be on a nest tomorrow. Hatching G2 Corrupted Pearls soon!
Aquaris and Spectra are on another nest with three eggs.

@MegaraFrostalon @coolrat @BlueEternity The day the eggs hatched, Aquaris was not there. He had thought there was more time. But just in case, he’d told Envy to watch the nest. She did, pacing around it vigilantly, with Mordecai’s pearl in a sling across her back. She didn’t need to watch him; no, he would never leave her without his dear pearl. Where was Spectra? Envy didn’t care where her mother was. She was too weak to do anything. Envy only had contempt for her parent. There was no love between them. But Aquaris … Envy admired her father, that was certain. And she had sensed the urgency in his tone. She had to watch the nest, or she would fail in his eyes. She leaned down to examine the three eggs. They were all Pearlcatchers, she was sure. The eggs were quite small. As Envy glanced away, she saw a blue Obelisk. Not Spectra; larger and standing proud. This, perhaps, was the danger? She hissed angrily, her back to the eggs as she stared at the Obelisk. It disappeared, but she searched the area where it’d disappeared with her eyes. And when she turned, all three were gone. This had been a hard rescue attempt for Psyche, but she’d called in a favor, and it had worked. Now Psyche had two eggs. Two, not three. The third had rolled away in the night, and she had no hope of retrieving it. But she had them all away from Aquaris.
