The thing is, my original idea for Echeveria was that ey were a succulent gardener. I thought the Nurtured Cluster apparel looked really nice on eim and ended up naming eir after a genus of succulent. And the Succulents vista even has several [i]Echeveria[/i] species visible on it!

I chose Serpent Shrine for Terra, since it fits her colors so well! Drakeharvest is too yellow for her, and the other garden-related scenes don't fit her vibes that well, either. I decided early on that Haran should be a farmer. My dragons eat [i]a lot[/i] of food each week, and from a writing viewpoint, it just didn't seem feasible that gathering alone would be able to feed so many dragons, especially since in my lore, dragons in the Hib Den are still active and not actually asleep.
Haran was a breeding project, and his personality was inspired by a friend of mine whose ancestors were farmers. He wasn't originally intended to be a farmer (if I recall right, I think I was considering making him a weapons master or a hunter, something more combative), but when I started considering where my clan's food would come from, I realized that having a farmer in the clan made more sense. It also seemed to fit Haran well, so I tried dressing him accordingly, and I'm pretty comfortable with him being a professional farmer now.
As to what he farms, I think he would mostly stick to whatever staple crops can grow in the Sunbeam Ruins, but I feel he would also be a bit adventurous and try experimenting with more uncommon plants, maybe stuff that's rare in the Ruins or native to other regions instead. His fields would definitely be somewhere in Light, on the clan's territory, close to home so he can keep an eye on things. His harvests would be largely for the clan's own use, but he would also be open to selling or trading with other clans, and would definitely set aside some of his earnings for more comfortable living.

He does it for fun since it's not really a food kind of garden and he does it for his own pleasure to make sure the gigantic underwater courtyard which is where all the gardens are, is filled with beautiful flowers, plants, shrubs, and trees. He tends to these gardens every day and no one has asked him to do this, but he does it anyway and gets a little grumpy if any hatchlings mess anything up by accident. It's not really a job, but he treats it like it's his purpose in life and likes being alone with the plants. No one complains because they also like the courtyard to be beautiful. He's kind of an odd dragon, but he's happy with the way he is.
