Dragon Share

This is a name sharing thread c: I was curious how unique some of my dragons names were (and I don’t have very many dragons so I kinda searched them all) and got surprised by some of them. First of all, [b][u]Codder[/u][/b]. I used to have a little green snake named Arden Codder when I was in high school and I thought it was just a normal name. Turns out he’s the only Codder on the site (although there is one other dragon named Codders) [url=https://www1.flightrising.com/dragon/18448795][img]https://www1.flightrising.com/rendern/350/184488/18448795_350.png[/img][/url] Also [b][u]Angeleno[/u][/b] only has one other dragon on FR with the same name. I named him after Angelino from the animated movie MFKZ but I spelled it wrong lol, but even the correct spelling of the name only comes up 6 times on the site. [url=https://www1.flightrising.com/dragon/38431690][img]https://www1.flightrising.com/rendern/350/384317/38431690_350.png[/img][/url] And lastly [b][u]Califia[/u][/b], this one big shocked me considering that’s the name of the queen who inspired the name for the state of California! There’s only 3 on FR?!! [color=#ff0000][b]Edit:[/b] I’m an idiot the queen’s name was Calafia. But there’s still only 6 dragons on FR with that name so my point isn’t lost.[/color] [url=https://www1.flightrising.com/dragon/38431691][img]https://www1.flightrising.com/rendern/350/384317/38431691_350.png[/img][/url] I have a one-of-a-kind-named dragon, [b][u]Scumwalker[/u][/b]. But who would ever name their dragon Scumwalker? That’s not a surprise. And then on the flip side I have a dragon named [b][u]Lochlomond[/u][/b], named after a town near where I grew up, who I thought would be a one-of-a-kind but actually has two dragon name twins out there! And they’re both still active! Who do you have in your layer who has a unique name?

I swear Angeleno is what people from Los Angeles call themselves, so he matches up with Califia too. He’s actually named because I wanted a French name as he’s from a hatchery called Pardon My French, and I’d done a crossword recently that asked for the first name of the founder of DuPont. Normally I can guess those kind of things based on other letters even if I don’t know them, but I had to look up his, so it’s stuck with me. That it’s apparently based on a Greek epithet for Dionysus sealed the deal, even if I can’t have diacritics on here (it should be Éleuthère). I realise this is a disgustingly nerdy reasoning and I’m sorry.

@SouthernPansy lol yes they do and I live in Los Angeles currently and grew up in California so I have a lot of names in my lair (familiars included) inspired by the state and city :D I’m looking forward to adopting a dusty looking pair someday named Crenshaw and Compton.

I love Eleuthere, that’s incredibly unique! And I love that’s it’s a real name, too, not just something you made up. Is it pronounced like El-ee-ooh-theer?

I’m going off this pronunciation so it sounds like “ee-loo-tair” but I’m not French or Francophone so I don’t know for sure.

I have a handful that on't share their names, starting with my custom progen Novaerus is named after an internet company that my workplace uses and i liked the name so i took it. My, uh, random progen. Is the only one with his name. Active or inactive, exalted or not, it's just him.
