Heritage of the dragon is not taken into account; a Brilliant Blossom dragon may be born of two non Brilliant Blossom dragons (ie, Breed Change & Gene Changes are accepted). While traditionally an Ice Subspieces, Matching Eyes are accepted for Brilliant Blossoms, and Any Eyes will qualify for Semi-Precious Brilliant Blossoms. Residents of the Icewardens domain were tormented and fleeing at great numbers which gave a sign of the imperative nature of the assignment. From those enlisted to serve the Icewarden, a collection of Gaoler whose coat would blend tightly into the frigid landscape, were selected and dispatched to the affected zones. The Seekers hunted and tracked their quarry for nights on end; often a brief exchange of attacks would commence before the shade would slither away through a crack or crevice. For weeks upon weeks, their outfit followed the trail only to arrive at the next location where its destruction lay in waste. The outfit felt the blame for their ongoing failures to capture the menace. Devastation was left in the Shade’s wake. No matter the efforts the pale camouflage seekers placed into their searching, they were always left short. Frustration began to grow and occasionally they would be found bitterly arguing amongst themselves. However, their leaders were calm, and typically able to ease the tension with their steadfast dedication to their assignment. Weeks turned into months, and their numbers started to decrease. They buried a recent victim of the shade and sank their orders signet into the snow before they moved on. Soon after they found themselves near an abandoned mine, but traces of the shade’s trail could be detected near the entrance and within. Warily they decided to split up and enter the mine from several of its entry points, in an attempt to corner the shade deep within its walls. Trekking into the deep, black mine would defeat the purpose of their wintery camouflage, leaving them exposed, but they felt they had no choice. Several groups were formed and they entered the darkness. Brilliant white coats gleamed in the moonlight against stark rocky backdrops until suffocating darkness surrounded them. Though any crack in the mine or any refraction of light, the Seekers within would become illuminated in and out of existence as they delved deeper into the mine. They noted the glittering walls, littered with crystalline deposits, which provided a bit of light and assisted them in visualizing their paths. Deep gnarled roots from the largest trees in the Boreal Wood extended into the walls and floors of the mine, occasionally shooting right through the caverns, forcing the units to awkwardly maneuver their way over them. Pressing forward the Seekers knew they were growing close, as the stink of Shade started to fill the corridors, along with a light that pulsated from deep within the mine. Each group carefully clung to the edges of the mine walls as they began to fill with light. No enemies appeared, but they were still cautious. Soon enough they found themselves at a cross roads, an open space deep in the mine, where the light from a devious spell was growing and radiating outwards. A crackling in the air, and a swirl of dark energies caused a vortex of light and dark to rage within the room. The Seekers could see their ranks staring back at them from each of the entry points; while they had cornered the shade for certain, it was their own group who had been tricked! The rampaging evil that filled the room with darkness, stank, and brilliant power began to pull them towards its center. By this point, they had already learned of the plot and had turned to retreat. However, the vortex pulled them with more strength than they possessed. As they were pulled backward the brilliance and sickly darkness enveloped their bodies; their forms thrashing as they attempted to flee. Their appendages began to slow and their bodies began to harden; they were crystallized and frozen in their tracks. Statuesque forms of the Gaoler Seekers were littering the corridors of the mine as the laughter of the shade rang loudly within its halls. Black energy began to shoot forward in searing arches, hitting each of their bodies, turning their brilliant white and ice coats muddy dark hues; one last insult from the hunted to the hunters. The shade’s power in the world has been depleted, and their curses begin to fade. Deep within a mine, located in the IceWardens realm, a hardened force of Seekers begin to awaken. They are blind within the pitch-black tomb, and they are bound by roots and time. Their bodies are stiff, and they struggle to free themselves from the vines that had completely permeated the mine. Upon reaching the gaping mouth of their prison, dusty forms emerge, glancing towards each other, memories of their past life cloudy, but present. They do not recognize one another, the dirt and growths that seem to have clunge to their bodies are too thick, but they know they are bound by their shared experience. More and more Gaolers leave the mine, and a light rain begins to fall revealing the impact of the shade. Their bodies have been transformed into glittering crystalline and carapace shapes. The once muddied colors inflicted have been solidified as brilliant colorful accents. The roots and forest of the Boreal Wood have also left a lasting impact, as they have been consumed by it; their bodies blossom. Soon they will find their place in the world again, but at this moment the Seekers bask in the cleansing rain, mouths agape. They drink in the sun and glitter like diamonds.[/color][/size][/font] [center][font=Georgia][size=6][color=#2e0b40]Characteristics[/color][/size][/font][/center] [font=Georgia][size=4][color=#2e0b40]Most Brilliant Blossom from the original seeker clan are determined warriors, skilled in various forms of combat, and spent a good deal of their lives dedicated to fighting and containing the Shade. Many years have passed since those lives, but they still retain their fighting spirit and are often well suited to careers as guardians, paladins, defenders, etc. Those of the subspecies who are offspring of the original seekers will retain these traits, though they may vary and change over time. As they were bonded together within the cave, Gaolers of the subspecies do prefer to be in groups, and it is unlike to find an individual who stands alone. Adapting to life after their service fighting the shade has been a trial as well, and they do tend to be ready for action at a moment's notice. While not always considered Hot-Headed, they are as hardened as their crystalline bodies and are do not shy away from a challenge. Adapting to their now Glittering Appearance was also difficult, as they were known as the most covert of their breed when hidden within the ice and snow. They are needing to adapt their tactics, using reflection and ruse to fool their enemies, and also using the light of the sun to blind incoming foes. Offspring and foundlings of this subspecies will typically follow along with the standard criteria for their variant but occasionally will divert. Without the background of Seeker Training, some will take this upon themselves to be trained, while others will seek out other options in their order. [/color][/size][/font]
