She is a [url=http://www1.flightrising.com/forums/drs/2508564]Gladeling[/url], born with the colors of the Gladekeeper and possessing uncommon talent in caring for the flora around her home. Gladelings had always been given prodigious status in her home clan, but Aspen was a special Gladeling. Everyone had heard tales of old Gladelings who could seemingly create life where none existed and communicate almost telepathically with the Gladekeeper herself, but as their bloodlines had thinned, those abilities had waned. That is, until a recent surge in power pulsed through the Viridian Labyrinth, giving rise to new types of the Gladekeeper's Prophets who possess special eyes with which to help her gather information on her own realm and others. Aspen realized early on that she could see in ways others could not. Her Faceted Eyes could detect wavelengths invisible to others, helping her to see details others missed. Though this had the small side effect of altering her perception of normal colors and made dressing herself a nightmare, she rarely had to worry about that, spoiled and fawned over as she was. For it was also obvious from early in her life that she held some direct connection with the Gladekeeper herself. A voice periodically spoke in Aspen's head, deep and booming but still somehow gentle and kind, giving her instructions to visit specific people or places. Once there, she would enter trances where she did not truly hear or see those around her but seemed to look right through them. She would sometimes walk around or interact with her surroundings during these trances, but it felt as if she were being used as a puppet. As if she was not in control of her own actions. And very rarely, during these trances, the voice that she heard would issue from her own mouth. Everyone that she met waited on baited breath, hoping to hear the voice of the Gladekeeper. Over time, Aspen became unhappy with this life. She did not mind the attention and material comfort that her condition afforded her, but she grew tired of not having freedom. She was constantly watched by others, and constantly waiting on her next orders. She had taken a mate, who she adored. Men of stature, eager to advance their own aims, had always vied for her attention. But Birch was different. He had been a lowly attendant when they met, assigned to tend her needs for a short period, but she grew fond of him and asked for him to stay with her as a companion. Aspen was rarely refused anything, so from that point on, he had traveled with her. But he was often pushed aside when she met dragons from other clans, and she grew tired of this too. One day, the voice inside her head spoke to her, as it did sometimes. But its message was different. "Spread my influence... Make connections with other Flights... Set out alone..." [i]How?[/i] she thought. There was no response, no elaboration. Not that she expected one really, that had never worked before. She did as her orders stated. She set out alone, sad to leave Birch, but bound to her mission. She was unsure really of where to go first or what exactly she was supposed to be doing, or why. She had had the vague idea to set out for Dragonhome first, and so traveled West. Though she recieved no more instructions, she was sure that she would figure it out. In fact, she never heard that voice in her head again. But some of her many children or grandchildren did. And those who did not would still find in time that their gifts rivaled those of the Gladeling whose mission would take her across Sornieth. But a few of them, possessing the Jungle/Forest/Green colors of the Gladekeeper and sporting Nature eyes, would find that they too heard this voice that Aspen sometimes spoke of and embark on their own journeys on the Gladekeeper's behalf. Some, however, would find that they also inherited Malachite's ability to feel and move the Earth, and turn small objects into gems. A unity between powers of Nature and Earth. Some would also find that, like Darkvine, they are able to bend and disappear into the shadows, and use them to create illusions to confuse or distract other dragons. [/LIST] [center][b][size=5][color=#1e371a]Requirements for Dragon Registration[/color][/size][/b][/center] [LIST] [*][color=#1e371a]Each dragon in this lineage will be given a generation number. Aspen and her mates are labeled as Gen 0, their offspring are Gen 1, and so on. This does differ from Flight Rising's notation of dragons with no parents being Gen 1, so be aware that Gen 1s in my lineage are not Gen 1 by FR terms. [*][color=#1e371a]Each dragon will be part of a line based on the element from which their male progenitor originates. The first Line is Nature, descended from Aspen and Birch. [*][color=#1e371a]To be registered, a dragon must be descended directly from Aspen with no interbreeding between lines or generations. This just makes generation numbers messy, and messes with the lore a little. [*][color=#1e371a]One parent must be a registered Legacy. [*][color=#1e371a]They must be Level 5 or higher. This is symbolic of their special gifts inherited from their progenitors. [*][color=#1e371a]That's basically it. Any genes, colors, breeds, or changes made to any of these with scrolls are welcomed! Born to two of my Gladelings, and being a [url=http://www1.flightrising.com/forums/drs/2508564]Gladeling[/url] herself with Faceted Eyes, I fell in love with her. [center][url=http://flightrising.com/main.php?dragon=49579813] [img]http://flightrising.com/rendern/avatars/495799/49579813.png[/img] [/url][/center] [color=#1e371a]I knew she needed to be spoiled, but I couldn't decide on exactly what to do with her, so I bought her multiple mates, and from there it grew into this idea that she should have one from every flight. And though each of them are green, they should all be gened to better exemplify the aesthetic I have come to associate with their home flights. And then the ideas kept coming, and this project was born. [center][b][size=5][color=#1e371a]Project Aims[/color][/size][/b][/center] [color=#1e371a]My goal with this project is to, within each line of Aspen's Legacy, breed for genes and colors to match my vision of a Flight Rep from each Flight, because I don't have Flight Reps in my Lair. At the end of each line, when I have come to the colors and genes I desire, I will try to find a nest to rent in order to breed the last generation in the land of their origin. I will thus obtain a Flight Rep from each flight all descended from my Gladeling. Along the way, I will track each generation I keep for breeding here in this thread, and I will also be offering all other hatchlings for adoption in my sales thread. Anyone who would like to take part in this Lineage can register their dragons as well and help me keep this Aspen's Legacy alive! [center][b][size=5][color=#1e371a]Project Guidelines[/color][/size][/b][/center] [LIST] [*][color=#1e371a]Each Line will begin with a progenitor from every Flight. These dragons are permanent dragons in my lair. [*][color=#1e371a]I will keep one dragon from each generation in each Line. (With the exception of those descended from my Nature Progen because I have plenty of Nature Reps. Being from Nature.) [*][color=#1e371a]That dragon will be bred once with the aim of advancing their offspring's colors around the color wheel and achieving my desired genes. They and their mate will then be leveled and sent off to serve the Gladekeeper. [*][color=#1e371a]The last step will be repeated until I achieve the desired results. [*][color=#1e371a]Once I get close enough to the colors I want, I will attempt to find someone to rent a nest from in that Line's Flight of origin, so that the last generation will result in offspring with the correct eyes. [*][color=#1e371a]If I am successful in that last bit, I will possibly ask that the parents be exalted to that Flight's deity. [*][color=#1e371a]One of their offspring will be given a permanent home in my Lair, some Lore, a sweet outfit, and all the other things I can give them so that they feel properly spoiled. I think all of this is doable, though I may need some gem genes in the end. The rest should be easy enough to breed for, I think. I think I have finished enough to call this project open! I will be adding lore and lineage lines as the project progresses.
