They're both head over heels for each other but the enchanter's trans and a victim of past transphobia that's left him feeling unworthy of the prince's affection, so he keeps trying to pull away and withdraw. Also he and the prince met when they were young but the prince has amnesia and also the enchanter constantly wears a mask to hide his face anyway
