Although his parents and family loved him, Valan could not escape the feeling of disappointment and shame that followed him. He felt left behind, often being put to the wayside in family matters and witnessed his siblings receive better treatment. He was excluded from special training and classes that saw his siblings become established within the Clan's hierarchy and felt left out of the family structure. Valan opposed his family and Clan's beliefs in the Mother Nature Deity they worshipped, believing not that their powers and fortunes came in forms of blessings from an unseen God but that it came through their own hard work and efforts. Being altruistic, he did not like the mis-treatment of dragons without "blessings" and overtime grew a deep resentment for the Clan's value of the Deity over each other which saw him leave the Clan to find his own way in the Wastelands. Valan's main belief is in a strong community bond and structure, where dragon's are celebrated not for their powers and magicks but for the bonds they create with others through fairness and acceptance. He is currently strudying the practice of the ancient Deity, Aurantheus - The God of the Sun, not for an interest in worship but for the altruistic core principles outlined within the ancient text. He decided to leave the area and was subsequently chased out of the other domains within the lands dubbed "[url=https://www1.flightrising.com/forums/cc/3276931#post_3276931][color=#0645ad]The Farmer's Market[/url][/color]" and cast out into the Wastelands due to a deep fear of the consuming and infectious dark magicks his family possess. There are little records of his life after leaving the domain. [font=Time New Roman][size=5]Magicks[/size][/font] [rule]The blood relatives of the Wildspores all possess an innate dark magick which infects them with mushrooms that bloom from their scales and mane that spread out festering spores furthering the cycle of infestation. After the spores set in a brief incubation period results in a symbiotic relationship between the infected and the host which spans across all organic materials, granting the host control of the victims. However, a great [color=#0645ad]curse[/color] follows those who created this magick. The host cannot be seperated from their infecting fungi, meaning that most cannot leave their domains but must wait for their mushrooms to slowly spread. This has bred a culture of desperation for power and control over lands which saw Roethke's parents be imprisoned within their domain by a barrier of [color=#0645ad]ethereal magick[/color] from an unknown source, ending their spree of dominating land. Although originally thought to not obtain any of the dark magick, Roethke does possess a [color=#0645ad]mutated form[/color] of the infestation. The dark mushrooms cover his body and at will he can release plummes of spores to temporarily hypnotise organic creatures, gaining him the power to manipulate their thoughts and actions to do his own sinister bidding. However, his powers are weakened and cannot be used to control large territories, due to this inability to spread to land he can freely roam anywhere and was thus it is speculated to be the reason he is not affected by the etheral barrier entrapping his parents. After he hatched his parents received signals from the vessels in the Woodlands of his arrival and accepted him back into the family fold. As a hatchling Ghroth delighted his parents with his [color=#0645ad]mutated magick[/color] that gave him unique abilities and most importantly the ability to pass through the ethereal barriers holding them within the Tangled Woods. They trained him on how to navigate his magicks but more importantly fed him altered versions of the history of what befell their family and how they ended up imprisoned. This bred within him a sense of revenge and strongly seeks to use his abilities to "free" his family from the "enemies" that dwell within the domains of [color=#0645ad]The Farmers Market[/color]. [font=Time New Roman][size=5]Magicks[/size][/font] [rule]The blood relatives of the Wildspores all possess an [color=#0645ad]innate dark magick[/color] which infects them with mushrooms that bloom from their scales and mane that spread out festering spores furthering a cycle of infestation that can be used to hypnotise and command unknowing victims. Upon his birth it was clear that Ghroth possesses a strong variation of this Dark Magick. The mushrooms that cover his body can be easily manipulated to proliferate into a massive form, cocooning as much of his body as he demands. Under this carpet of fungi he can become completely camoflagued and uses this mask to infiltrate settlements, spy on others and wait out prey. He was sent to the Swamp Bogs to pseudo-spy on powerful leaders, with the intent to use his magick to infect them and use them as a conduit to rile together their powers to break down the barriers holding his parents within the Tangled Wood. That is, until he was discovered one night and was chased out into the Wastelands by more powerful residents.
