King Crimson hums, regarding Jeremy coolly. His scarlet eyes run over Jeremy's form quickly, before assessing the room behind him. He nudges Nikolai, and his massive staff glows as he does an assessment of the room around him too, from the perspective of Love magic, and then Nikolai scries the room with his own Arcane abilities. In that single move, King Crimson and Nikolai now know the relationship every cat in this room has with one another, will have, and have had. "Can I.... offer you and your friends in for a dance?" Jeremy muses. "We're, ah...holding a ball. For my....son." He glances back at Teo, who's dusting himself off and motioning for a cat Jeremy can't see to dance with him. "And his....ghost girlfriend, I think." "...Ah." King Crimson hums, looking over at Teo, who's now gawking at the visitors. Everyone is. The doors are wide open, and all dancing has stopped, all music has stopped, and all are staring at King Crimson, his three friends, and the massive wall of cats behind him. And this wall is definitely massive, standing abreast ten cats each, and the wall of said cats stretches all the way out of the Kingdom's boundary lines. King Crimson is no joke. "You know, I'd love to, but, I'm here mostly on business. Visiting an old friend, assessing the land --" "Please, we insist. Just one dance - you and your friend, perhaps?" Joy, tired and dirty approaches, but she understands the scope of the situation, and how necessary this might be. "You both look like you haven't gotten a chance together, wouldn't that be lovely?'' King Crimson and Nikolai glance over at one another. Nikolai, tired, old, but a sparkle in his eye at the thought of dancing in this castle. King Crimson, immortal, unshakable, a twinkle in his eye for being able to dance with his best friend in the whole world. "I'd...be honored, old friend." Crimson stammers, and Nikolai chuckles, rising to his paws. "Why not," Nikolai hums. "Never danced before." He looks at King Crimson, does a deep bow, and offers his hand. "May I have this dance?" Jeremy, Joy, and Teo all get front row seats to King Crimson visibly - yes, visibly - blushing, as he takes Nikolai's paw. "I....would be honored, friend." The music starts up again, and the dance floor parts so Crimson and Nikolai can dance. The two strange cats here exchange a glance with one another, and the gray and white bicolored cat with the strange crown is the one to stand up, padding over to a potential dance partner. "You look fun. You wanna dance?" She looks over at Mort, who perks up from his little forgotten corner of the dance floor, and he gives a goofy little smile. "Huh? Oh! Me? You want, to dance with me?" "That's what I said, handsome." Her words are monotonous, but kind. Mort seems to not mind the lack of emotion in her voice. "I....would be supremely honored to dance with a princess like yourself." Mort scrambles, rising and then bowing to her. She offers him a paw, and he kisses it before even remotely rising to lead her in a dance. Even with one front paw, he'd make it work. "It's Princess Emergence," She remarks, and a half-smile cracks across her features. The white-and-ginger tom, still at the entrance, glances around at the rest of the cats with a bit of a disapproving stare. Many of these cats are weak...pathetic. Unamusing. That cat that showed up in his father's kingdom, though.... he could hardly get her sable cream visage out of his mind. She seemed tough. Like she could take care of herself. He shook the thought from his head, and glanced around again. She wasn't here, she was back home, and unless she followed, there was no chance he was seeing her again. He looks at the flower-crowned one, and the woman next to him. She had a lovely black and white coat, and he puffs up a little bit. Nothing quite like the power play of dancing with a King's Queen, eh? "May I have this dance?" He mews, bowing to Joy. "Huh?" She looks down at him. "I'm hardly in a state to be dancing, don't you think?" "Didn't notice, my Queen. Only noticed your startling beauty and your lack of a dance partner." "My....partner is my dance partner. Apologies, but no." Joy puts up a paw, and Bloodthorn nods. Disappointed, but understandable. "Of course, your Majesty." He hums, looking around at the dance floor. Oh well, he'll try again. He approaches another girl, with eyes sparkling like the night sky. "May I have this dance, my fair lady?" "Huh? Oh, uh....." Stella glances around, and grabs nearby Sombra. "Sorry, I already have a dance partner!" "No worries. Thank you for your consideration." Bloodthorn hums, and he looks around again. He approaches a grey-and-white she-cat, her eyes milky white. "Hello, my fair lady, may I---" "No." "Okay, have a wonderful evening." Bloodthorn decides that's enough rejection for one evening as he sits with his father's soldiers, sulking a little bit at how the night's going, and watches his sister dance. At least she's having fun. He hasn't seen her smile in forever. [/center]

I'm gonna say yes, as long as you're okay with me characterizing him how I'd like to in the locke still as I had several longstanding plans with this fella ^^

Moon 101 - Lore

"Good evening." King Crimson hums, regarding Jeremy coolly.

"And his....ghost girlfriend, I think."

"...Ah." King Crimson hums, looking over at Teo, who's now gawking at the visitors.

Visiting an old friend, assessing the land --"

"Please, we insist. Just one dance - you and your friend, perhaps?" Joy, tired and dirty approaches, but she understands the scope of the situation, and how necessary this might be. "You both look like you haven't gotten a chance together, wouldn't that be lovely?''

King Crimson and Nikolai glance over at one another.

"May I have this dance?"

Jeremy, Joy, and Teo all get front row seats to King Crimson visibly - yes, visibly - blushing, as he takes Nikolai's paw.

"I....would be honored, friend."

The music starts up again, and the dance floor parts so Crimson and Nikolai can dance.

The two strange cats here exchange a glance with one another, and the gray and white bicolored cat with the strange crown is the one to stand up, padding over to a potential dance partner.

Thank god the generator's working again, LOL.

Your cat's base coat is Tan with Birdcatcher. It's magic is Arcane

Drama
20. Loyal servants serving the Monarch. The Kingdom's getting loyal. Wicked loyal. Three random cats are now SO loyal and impressive that they forgot how to die - or at least, the Monarch forgets to have them dealt with. If any of them would, for any reason, be exalted, they now simply...don’t do that. But only once. Treat this as an “extra life” of sorts.

Sparky, Vicky, and a random kit from last turn gets the lives.

Lore

Bloodthorn watches from the corner as his sister and his father both have an amazing time with their dance partners. He's doing his best to be cheerful for them both; the heavens knew his sister could use some good things in her life. And his father, well... he'd never seen him sad but he'd never seen him happy either. Not, you know...happy happy. The kind of happiness you get when you look into the eyes of the cat you love. Supposedly. Dad always said that romance was supposed to be like that. Magical.

Magical and painful, really; magical and delightful, because love. Painful, because Bloodthorn, Emergence, and Crimson all were immortal, and would outlive anyone they really ended up loving.

Bloodthorn wasn't expecting to find love here of all places; these cats were all soft. Squishy. Easily killable. But it would be nice to have a dance. The soldiers his father commanded just didn't quite cut it; and it wouldn't feel right for him.

"Excuse me?"

Bloodthorn was pulled out of his thoughts, and the tom perks up, glancing over at the cat bothering him.

A dunalino fella, bright purple eyes. Poison.

"Would you, uh, like to dance?" They asked. "My name's Sombra, by the way. What's yours?"

"Oh, uh..." Bloodthorn stammers. Well this was a turn of events. Someone asking him to dance? "My name's Prince Bloodthorn."

"It's nice to meet ya, Prince Bloodthorn." Sombra cheerfully exclaims. They eagerly take his paw, and take to the dance floor.

Your cat's base coat is Apricot (Horse) with Overo, Badger-Themed Markings, and Reverse Brindle. It's magic is Fungal

Drama

7. Ambushed! Another crew has cornered your soldiers and has attacked! Flip a coin. If heads, most of them manage to escape; exalt one random cat. If tails, two random cats fall during the escape and must be exalted.
Decree: Roll a d8. If you roll higher than X, cats die - flip the ambush coin like normal. If you roll at or lower to X, the Ambush coin doesn't get flipped and everyone is saved. X is equivalent to your Colony's number of Plant Storkies.

No such luck. Dice roll time.
Tails.

Arcane cat from previous moon, and Ouranos. Ouchie.

Lore

The Prince was nervous watching all this fanfare take place. He wanted to do things. Maybe - maybe, he could, dunno...he could just, you know, possess someone. Just for a little bit. He had one final friend who could help him out, after all; he was here at the party, with his brother providing the music.

"Ouranos, my friend...please, I beg of you." He murmurs. "Can I borrow your corporeality for just a few hours?"

"Of course, friend." Ouranos was more than happy to let the Prince take over; after all, they were friends.

As soon as the two were merged, Nikolai stops dancing, snapping his head to attention, and bristling.

"Crystalheart blood...I sense it. It walks here." He uses his staff, illuminates Ouranos from across the dance floor, and his eyes glow white and pink with arcane magic.

The sound of the death that awaited Ouranos was interrupted only by the sound of the castle doors opening. In the doorway stands Amaranth, Zeus, and Vienna, and between the three of them they carry three kits.

One of them blinks their golden eyes open, and the first thing they see in this wicked world is their future selves being rended from this earth from Nikolai the Arcane magician.

He disappears, time traveling into nothingness; and everyone's left confused, startled, and concerned. The music comes to a screeching halt.

Recruitment

Your cat's base coat is Mulberry Gray with Classic Tabby, Max White, and Unnatural Coat Marking. It's magic is Lightning. Their extra traits are Scars, Whiskers, and Ear Tufts

Drama

12. Major Mission!! This is it! Your time to shine. Roll a d12 for Every dragon. If you get higher than their level, exalt. Raise all survivors by one level.

Here we go.

Tiana, Mort loses a life, Nico, Hamlet, all of Marlow/Hamlet's litter died but otherwise no major casualties.

Lore

King Jeremy stares, wide-eyed at Nikolai, and then the dead body, and the King. The King seems absolutely unbothered, though he seems to be holding Nikolai's paw, wanting to comfort him? He thinks that's comfort, anyway.

And now, cats are looking to Jeremy; he's not been in the mindspace to be a ruler for the past...oh, who knows how many moons now. He's been letting the Prince take the reins, and now he's gone - maybe permanently - and Jeremy doesn't rule. He isn't a fighter, he isn't a combatant...he isn't much of anything other than a cat with a crown. And now one of his cats was killed, and he should do something.

But what? Try to maintain diplomacy? Lash out?

Apparently the time for diplomacy was over, as Apollo yowls, racing across the dance floor to try to retaliate; he's easily batted away as Nikolai, master of his arcane craft, easily throws him across the floor. He lands on a column, and crumples to the ground. At least he's alive.

Pan, the other sibling, is nowhere to be seen. Neither is the kit that Zeus was carrying mere seconds ago. He went from holding three kits, to one, baby Apollo the kit squirming in his hold. Honestly, Zeus has no clue what's happening, but he can smell time travel over all this.

And the world's going crazy, as cats break into fight, and King Crimson stands in the middle of it all; unphased as cat after cat launches towards Nikolai. Nikolai flings them like rag dolls; some of them don't get up upon being thrown.

In the chaos and confusion, one of Jeremy's own lashes out at Mort, but Mort survives, thankfully.

Just lore!

Lore

The time for peace was over, it would seem, as Nikolai stands, unscathed, regarding the group at large calmly. He seems mostly unbothered by the attempts on his life.

"I do apologize for the interruption," He hums, glancing up at King Crimson. King Crimson shakes his head, putting a reassuring paw on his side. "However, I have sworn I would rend Crystalheart blood from this planet."

"My sincere apologies, I do not know who the Crystalhearts are, but...I do apologize for the hassle." Jeremy says swiftly, backing up nervously. "I am.... I hope we can discuss things diplomatically."

"Of course," King Crimson purrs. "I am nothing if not a diplomatic man. It is clear this quaint little castle of yours is the start of a lovely little kingdom...." He sweeps his gaze across the dance floor. "However, it is far from worthy of being conquered, so.... it will be untouched for now."

A few murmurs of anxiety and unease ripple through the group at that wording. For now, the statement was clear. It was not going to happen now, but later.

They certainly weren't prepared to face him, or pre-emptively attack in retaliation. And Jeremy was keenly aware that Poisonheart, wherever he was....was the only cat who might be able to help him. And he's absolutely gone. He sinks, wanting desperately to crawl back into the pit he pulled Joy from, and die quietly, not die in whatever horrific manner waited for him at the paws of this maniac.

"Thank you for having us," King Crimson hums. "It's been a pleasure, seeing what this place is like a few hundred moons after I worked to put it in the grave. I see that something still persists; I'm impressed, especially after the lengths Briarthorn and Crystalheart went to ensure I had nothing to raze." He laughs, scoring the air and leaving a trail of blood magic in it's wake.

"Clever, they were." He muses, mostly monologuing now. "But I'm far cleverer." He scans the room, and then glances at Nikolai.

"Do you care to do a scan my friend? Ensure there are no more Crystalhearts....or their kin, hiding? It would be unfortunate if we left behind an heir..."

Moon 106 - Part One

No rolling today, I just wanna get back into the swing of posting things. When it's time for cats to die, I'll simply roll for it.

Lore:

"I am quite sure that I have wiped the kin of Crystalheart from this planet," Nikolai hums in turn to King Crimson, turning his head to regard his companion calmly. "I don't see any other cats that bear the mark of the disgusting tyrant known as Crystalheart, so, I'm satisfied."

"If you're sure," King Crimson hums, looking out over the crowd. "It would take only a moment, to take a chance."

"I suppose you're right. What's the harm in it?" Nikolai goes to summon some magic, and then he's being pounced on by a cat who seems to come out of thin air. He's bowled over, the staff he's wielding knocking out of his hold and shattering on the ground. In a flurry of fur, yells, and cries, several things happen at once.

The old and frail Nikolai is, far more old and frail than first seen; as apparent by the fact that the larger cat on top of him bruises and breaks several bones without trying. There's yowls of pain coming from Nikolai as he calls out for King Crimson to help him, and the scarlet king does just that.

It's Ouranos, seemingly back from the dead, though he certainly looks younger than how he appeared a few minutes ago. He's hauled off of Nikolai by King Crimson, who throws him across the throne room, but he's caught by a twisting net of magic notes made real by Apollo, who's using his lute as quickly as he can to catch his brother.

Then, of course, there's the shuffles of the soldiers at the door, but when they go to attack, they're finding their paws being bound to the floor by hot, sticky tar that burns their fur and singes that which isn't caught in it. They yowl in confusion and pain, and the cats behind them are struck by uncertainty, as their ruler, King Crimson, isn't giving them orders.

It would seem their loyalty, undying and unyielding, comes at a price; needing orders. As it would be, King Crimson is predisposed with blood in his eyes as he launches himself across the ballroom floor at Ouranos. No more is he calm, cool or collected; pure bloodlust fills him.

And then there's the fuzzy pink aura that's flooding the ballroom, as some cats start to hear voices of cats they've never met.

Moon 106 - Part Two

A little bundle of pink energy smacks Jeremy in the chest and his heart feels heavy. There's feelings of guilt that seem to drag his heavy fur down, and he struggles to not collapse under the weight. There's the feeling of abandonment; as if he'd left something behind he never would want to. But the feeling that he has to. It's a decision he's made - no, not him, whoever emotions he's feeling.

He looks around wildly, grief-stricken, hoping to find a face in the crowd he'd recognize. He doesn't. Jeremy is unsurprised, but there's relief here. Why? Who's he looking for?

A word shimmers in the back of his mind; Brother

Teo also gets hit with the weight of a pink ball of energy, though he did do his best to avoid it. He's hit with feelings that aren't unfamiliar to him, but they seem to be in a new hue. There's the feeling of lost love; losing someone who you care so very deeply about. But it's different. In this, there's the knowledge that his lover is *never* coming back, and he's responsible for it.

That kind of guilt hits him like a boulder, and of course he thinks of Ether. But...that wasn't his fault, surely? It wasn't by his claws that he killed her.

However, the feeling that he killed his own lover stays with him, and he's unable to shake that feeling, nor is he able to really understand what's going on with him.

Zeus, who was still standing in the doorway with Amaranth and Vienna and their two kits, gets hit with his own ball of pink magic. It takes all his energy not to weep as he feels the pain of losing his mother; not literally, or maybe it is. But he can feel the tears he cried countless nights mulling over his decision, before severing his ties with her in the secondmost permanent way possible.

No, he didn't kill her, but he certainly killed both of their hearts the day he walked away from her.

Wait, what? Zeus hardly remembers anything about his mother, but he's pretty sure she's deceased, and they weren't that close beforehand. Right? This is all so strange to him.

Somewhere in the back, Era gets smacked with pink magic as well, but she is the only cat equipped to understand it's meaning.

She feels the weight of a cat who had to say goodbye to their best friend. Not in death, but having to literally cut and sever all emotional ties they had to them. It was a harsh, permanent severance of their Love, using cursed and corrupted Love Magic to ensure both cats would never emotionally remember one another once the spell was gone.

Of course, that Love had to go somewhere; and it was stored in this magic. The magic that hits her. Love Magic, in it's purest and most painful form. One of the cats here stored their emotions, their love, far, far away, inaccessible to them. But why?

Moon 106 - Part Three

As the emotions swirled around and took hold on the Storkies in the ballroom, Ouranos was fighting for his life with King Crimson, whose bloodlust was no joke. The tom's claws were sharpened like finely crafted blades, easily cutting into Ouranos' pelt. Fighting with King Crimson was overwhelming as he feels the full weight of being hunted by a Blood Storkatten; he can feel the pulse of his heart as King Crimson hones in on it.

And it's *felt*, it's apparent that King Crimson's using his blood magic to it's full effect as Ouranos' moves are predicted. The only way Ouranos has an upper hand in the battle is his usage of Time Magic, scattering his moves across time and letting his magic pick and choose which one in place. When his heart no longer chooses, King Crimson can't predict, and it's left Ouranos with just enough of an advantage to not immediately be torn to shreds.

Nikolai is crawling away from the fight, his older body quite battered from the beating Ouranos gave him, and his paws reach the paws of a Lightning Storkie; Sparky. The lavender badger Storkie glares down at him, having watched him hurt one of the other members of his colony, and he does what a Lightning cat does best.

"Teo, you need to leave." Jeremy urges Teo, finding him across the dance floor, trying to fight his way through the grief of losing a brother he's never met. Teo feels glued to the spot on the dancefloor, tears rolling out of his eyes.

"No, I.... I can't. I'm the reason, she...Ether, she's dead." He croaks out.

"What? No, you're not - but now's not the time, Teo, we need to get you to safety." Jeremy urges. He might not be possessed by Poisonheart anymore, but he loves Teo as a son all the same. Especially as he's his heir. "It's not worth it."

"No, I-" Teo can't finish his sentence as Jeremy just hurls himself underneath Teo's body, hauling the boy out of the room. Jeremy might not understand the feeling of leaving a brother behind, but he would fully understand leaving his adoptive son to die. He's carrying him out of the throne room, and running as far as his paws can carry him.

Moon 106 - Part Four

Ouranos is fighting a losing battle, either way he puts it. King Crimson’s claws are just a bit too sharp, teeth too long, and every hit hurts Ouranos more and more. He’s hurting, gold blood dripping down onto the marble flooring. He doesn’t want to fight alone, and as he feels himself wanting to collapse and give in, he feels the strength of a cat standing with him; feels his wounds rewind in time to when they didn’t exist.
Zeus has joined the foray.
“I won’t let my son fight alone,” Zeus affirms, shoving his head under Ouranos’s chin and shouldering a bite from King Crimson. He yowls in pain, but it’s the price to pay to buy some time for Ouranos. He is also weeping golden tears; as he still processes emotions that aren’t and never will be his own. He can worry about that later, what matters is his son is in peril, and it’s time for him to step up and be a father.

Sparks flew and Nikolai, for all the fanfare and fluff, was still just an old cat. He didn’t even have time to react as Sparky blitzed him with more volts than really was fair. Nikolai screamed, and when the voltage left his body, he attempted to summon his own bolts of magic; but it was a futile effort. Sparky blocked it with another bolt of Lightning magic, and Nikolai groaned as he collapsed, unable to fight anymore. He wasn’t dead – Sparky wasn’t a monster, however, Stella was another story. The Astral Storkie came flying in with her death mentor, Mort, and Stella summoned stars to surround Nikolai.

“Focus,” Mort urged as his own Death magic whipped up, eyes glowing silver. The light in the room took a darker turn as the magic was summoned. Stella closed her eyes and focused as constellations formed, forming X’s and circles and surrounding Nikolai, who was far too incapacitated to do anything about it. Any time King Crimson tried to jump in, Zeus would use his time travel to body block him.

With Mort’s help, Stella cancelled out any defensive magics Nikolai could conjure, and Mort used magic Death storkies certainly can use, and choose not to; bringing about an end a bit earlier than is necessary.

“No!” A scream ripped out of King Crimson from the opposite side of the ballroom. He shoves Zeus out of the way, and as he runs to tackle Mort or Stella or someone to make them pay for their crimes, he’s hit in the face with a ball of pink magic, stopping him dead in his tracks.

Era stands over the body of Nikolai defiantly, glaring at King Crimson with an intense passion.

“You can’t run from who you’ve left behind forever, King Crimson!” Her tail lashes in annoyance. “Take this back!” King Crimson doesn’t have time to react as she pulls magic from Zeus, pink in color, and throws it at King Crimson, who screams in agony and wails, falling backwards on the marble flooring. He is thrashing in unseen pain.

While Jeremy and Teo flee, Teo feels magic be lifted from him, and he no longer feels the crushing weight of feeling like it’s his fault Ether’s dead. He still cries.

Era takes the final ball of pink light and slams it into King Crimson who’s gasping.

“No! Wait, please, stop, I’ll leave – that’s what you want right? I’ll call off my troops – just please, make it stop, take them away!” King Crimson tries and fails to summon the pink magic out of him, instead pulling out his own blood magic. Era is confused, and she tilts her head. She watches this cat squirm and writhe and cry as he tries to pull the Love Magic out of him; to no avail. And then everyone gets to witness as the red in King Crimson’s coat and horns slowly but surely lightens, to be pinker in color. When he realized what’s happening, he straightens up, looking obviously mortified.

“This won’t be the last you see of me!” He declares, hurling himself towards one of his soldiers. “Come on, we’re going home!”

Loyally, they follow.

Rolls are now resuming, nobody's safe :)

Your cat's base coat is Chestnut with Ticked Tabby and Overo. It's magic is Air. Their extra traits are Missing Limb and Whiskers
Your cat's base coat is Calico with Clouded Leopard, Splash, and Overo. It's magic is Air

Drama Roll; 15.
15. Bad weather. It's raining lightly outside, and the Monarch isn't entirely cruel. They're too upset about it to assign missions, so everyone is spared and can go on about their business. Nothing happens.

Lore

Eventually, Jeremy returned with Teo. Once he saw all the cats leave his Kingdom, and he deposited the prince promptly in the castle. Then, Jeremy worked on what he could do best; healing the injured. There were plenty of them. Era did her best to care for Zeus, Amaranth, and Vienna, as well as their kits. Apollo and Pan, though Ouranos was missing in action; both the adult and the kit. Ouranos the adult seemed to vanish after the fight with King Crimson, and that was unfortunately that on that.

Fortunately, in the way of injured, only most survived minor injuries. Ouranos the adult had it the worst, but he was gone. Zeus was pretty beat up, and he had some new wounds to bare for his efforts, but his son was in theory alive out there somewhere. Alive and dead. What a wild tangent to think about.

But he had to go on, he had to move on...it wasn't a matter of if or how, but he must.

Teo was still working on processing everything that happened; the chaos of King Crimson arriving and leaving, his life being threatened, and the disappearance of his father. Oh, and Jeremy accidentally calling him son. That was another one. Just how many dads does Teo get?

One thing's for certain, he misses Ether terribly. He wonders if she'd know what to do.
