The Obelisk silently wondered what an undead beast might hunt, but didn't ask. Maybe he didn't want to know. So he just carefully listened on to Errai, nodding along - and soon following their lead southwest.
As they flew along the river, Suan'ni pondered his entrance into this world, not long ago - the underground river, so different from what he saw below his claws now, yet still somewhat the same.
He wasn't sure what his own thoughts meant to him, but was interrupted anyway and came to a halt, when they listened to the warning horns.
He looked to the two group leaders and soon [b]grouped with Netcha[/b] and some others - he was here to be at the front lines, after all.[/columns]

He had hatched in the ruins of the Hewn City, and he had lived there, before he eventually had joined a swarm in the Tangled Wood - and later, ended up in the Viridian Labyrinth. Yes, he was familiar with the place but in no way that meant he knew it well.
Especially not around here - the place he grew up in was roughly on the opposite end from where they entered now. And maybe wherever they were going he actually would need that crystal.
He shook his head when they were asked whic direction to go. No, he did not want to go west, towards his birthplace. [b]"Let's head south"[/b], he said.

But, no, he was just irrationally nervous. Melusine seemed friendly. And he indeed was interested in the plant mutations she spoke of.
"So...", Akanth murmured, a little awkwardly, then coughed to speak up a little louder. "[b]So ... what else is there to know about those plant mutations?[/b] I'm- I'm curious what kind of mutations we have to expect."

Errai seems to be faring considerably worse than he is, but Justice never did bother to learn about healing, and doesn't think he could be of any help in this situation. He thinks his priority should be to [b]investigate the strange object[/b]; if it was capable of injuring Errai, they need to deal with it quickly.[/columns]

He shivers despite himself, and has to force himself to look away. That's when he spots the glimmer coming from the nearby cave; he briefly considers checking it out, but finally steels his nerves. The ruins are important, they [i]have[/i] to be. He'll [b]enter the ruined structure[/b].[/columns]

This seems farfetched, but what if the ley energy comes together and forms a giant, visible tree? That would be pretty cool!" Et cetera. He hoped he wasn't boring the other dragons in the group to death and reminding them of Winterfang... When they landed, he saw most dragons immediately be attracted to the moss. It seemed one-sided, and he figured that they would want samples from both the mutated plants and the glowing moss. This led him to the decision of [b]picking some of the ferns and flowers.[/b] It was relatively easy, considering he had gloves on.[/columns]

Hurricane was talkative as they were flying. "Huh, interesting. Solving the mystery of the mutated plants will certainly involve ley energy, since not only do the mutated plants give off more energy, you mentioned that the mapping of the ley lines resembles a giant tree's roots, right? This seems farfetched, but what if the ley energy comes together and forms a giant, visible tree? That would be pretty cool!" Et cetera. He hoped he wasn't boring the other dragons in the group to death and reminding them of Winterfang... When they landed, he saw most dragons immediately be attracted to the moss. It seemed one-sided, and he figured that they would want samples from both the mutated plants and the glowing moss. This led him to the decision of picking some of the ferns and flowers. It was relatively easy, considering he had gloves on.

Then she realized.
WAIT A MINUTE. Wasn't Melusine talking about ley energy back at Lanternlea Port? This object might be infused with ley energy! She told her train of thoughts to the dragons in her group, and then decided to agree on the fact that none of them knew what ley energy was.

Maybe there are some completely mind-controlled dragons there, waiting for a victim... She shuddered and silently regretted her decision to come here. In what world would Vita abandon another in need?! In her heart, she knew protecting Errai would be the best thing to do. The strange object that caught her eye must have been seen by someone else, so they could do the job of investigating it.
She will [b]go to Errai and prepare to act defensively.[/b] Skydancers, with their fragile physique, could not withstand much more hits. That, and had any centaurs struck Errai's forehead, she would have permanently lost her power to sense magical energies.

Edith nodded along as Melusine explained ley energy. She knew not of the infused crystals, and for a moment, she thought of how Erebus fared. At this point, they must have not ventured too far into the Hewn City, but the crystal might pose an issue for them. She did not worry too much, however, believing them to have found a solution. Had she been in the same circumstances, she would have kept the crystal and moved on.
Light ley energy proved to be a particularly interesting topic to her. Edith wondered about its uses. Other than infusing crystals, she thought of how it could augment armor or even weapons. Outside of the battlefield, she thought of how some might use it to enhance their glasses. Her mind swirled with the possibilities, and before she knew it, they found themselves over a clearing.
The flora here grew in a multitude of colors! It almost felt like they had flown into the Viridian Labyrinth, what with its unique plants. Though Edith lacked a strong interest in phytology, she knew she would bring back some samples to Ceanothus. The Skydancer could just feel the Veilspun's joy, seeing unfamiliar flora. She knew not which of the two types of plants she would take home, so she picked by random. In the end, Edith would [b]collect the shimmering moss.[/b]

This dark, unknown spot in the Sunbeam Ruins, which she called her home.
Yes, Aurum felt that it was her duty to face her fear, even if she wasn't able to admit that she in fact was afraid of the ruins, surrounded by shade and darkness. Not even to herself.
At least she knew how to keep a straight face - after all she was a leader and an explorer. And despite her feelings, there was this deep rooted desire to discover the secrets of this place - and maybe something shiny along the way.
At least Skywall was a dragon which she could somehow respect - she probably wouldn't have joined this journey if it was only the Spiral. Aurum was young herself and she knew respect towards other dragons was fundamental to work together - but Winterfang really didn't make it easier with his... Talkative character.
Which was the reason she ignored him mostly.
Skywall explained their options and she listened carefully. It was an easy decision, though.

Building a clan and looking after this chaotic bunch of dragons which became somewhat his responsibility was surely adventurous itself - but sometimes he missed traveling without a destination in sight - and demanding battles along the way.
The Emperor's Wake was probably one of the most dangerous places in the Sunbeam Ruins. Since he first heard of it, he wanted to see it with his own four eyes - there was no way he would leave the group, which got a lot smaller after Skywall's speech about the dangers they were expecting.
Fulgur on the other claw was even more determined to discover the secrets of this place - and share the stories with his clan, when he would return.
Flying to their destination was probably the most annoying part of their journey, but even if it was exhausting, Fulgur was able to keep up with the other dragons.
The area was unexpectedly calm, at least for a short moment, before a horn call broke the silence.
Adrenaline rushed through his body. He turned around to Errai and Netcha, who came up with a plan immediately.
Without a second thought he joined in the group who prepared for the ambush.[/columns]

Which was why he decided to join the Pearlcatcher to the trip to the Daylight Sanctum.
Melusine seemed quite nervous. Maybe she wasn't used to talking to a bunch of dragons.
