The words of the pair settle in Megatronus' mind, his decision remaining the same. He will be sticking to this little adventure, regardless of the dangers that await him.

~~~
'Centaurs, eh? Easy enough to deal with,' Megatronus thinks to himself, more than prepared for their imminent skirmish. He is rarely one to hang back and away from a fight, much less one against beastclans, and so his decision to stick with Netcha for the ambush comes as naturally as breathing.
Well. Eunoia has not ventured so far out to be deterred by hazards he knew came with the city, alongside those that remain unknown. Perhaps he will name himself seven kinds of fool afterwards, but he is ready to explore the Hewn City.
~~~

All things considered, it's a tough call to make. But even so, Eunoia suggests that they should go west, towards the spire; the path there will at least be familiar for a time, and the towering structure is far too fascinating to leave unexplored.

"I would like to accompany you to the Daylight Sanctum," Orion says, giving Melusine a kind smile. "I've also been curious about the energy spikes across Sornieth that seem to be on the rise, so this trip may just provide a few answers."

~~~
"Could you tell me about your research on ley energies?" Orion calls over the wind. "I bought along some reports on the ley energies of the Isles, if you'd like to compare them."
MONDAY
39285646.png ** Emperor's Wake
Hekate is not the most personable of dragons, and doesn't spend a lot of time with others. As such, she has absolutely no abilities in healing. Since there are other dragons who should be able to help their injured guide, she investigates the object.
50321804.png ** Hewn City
Olaff rests for a moment, looking longingly toward the spire. But he is trying to take things slow and not dive in. There might be something here in this abandoned settlement that gives a clue as to what might happen later. As such, the little dragon pauses to investigate the settlement.
58204263.png ** Daylight Sanctum
Viridian is fascinated by the talk about ley lines, and so is surprised by the abrupt change of topic. The plants they find are definitely unusual! He's torn between what to collect, but finally goes with collecting the shimmering moss, as it will travel better and not lose as much vitality before they get back for more research.
Adventuring in Emperor's Wake
Suan'ni shook his head dismissively, as Errai told the group not to mind Netcha - he could respect his demeanor. He seemed genuine, even if a bit ... grumpy.
The Obelisk silently wondered what an undead beast might hunt, but didn't ask. Maybe he didn't want to know. So he just carefully listened on to Errai, nodding along - and soon following their lead southwest.
As they flew along the river, Suan'ni pondered his entrance into this world, not long ago - the underground river, so different from what he saw below his claws now, yet still somewhat the same.
He wasn't sure what his own thoughts meant to him, but was interrupted anyway and came to a halt, when they listened to the warning horns.
He looked to the two group leaders and soon grouped with Netcha and some others - he was here to be at the front lines, after all.
63401025.png Melquist keeps a carefully neutral face as he listens to Melusine's explanation. No harmful mutations? Well. A lesser toxicologist might get discouraged, but Melquist is open to possibility and knows there is a non-zero possibility that the plants, while innocuous on their own, could still be used as catalysts to activate new poisons and antidotes.
That idea intensifies when he actually sees the plants; they're unlike anything he's ever worked with before. Well, well. He heads instinctively towards the ferns and flowers; those usually have more potential in his line of work.
45988735.png Aurum knew that there wasn't much of a choice for her.
As a leader and - more importantly - as the oldest and most experienced archaeologist of the clan, it had to be her who explored the Hewn City.
This dark, unknown spot in the Sunbeam Ruins, which she called her home.
Yes, Aurum felt that it was her duty to face her fear, even if she wasn't able to admit that she in fact was afraid of the ruins, surrounded by shade and darkness. Not even to herself.
At least she knew how to keep a straight face - after all she was a leader and an explorer. And despite her feelings, there was this deep rooted desire to discover the secrets of this place - and maybe something shiny along the way.
At least Skywall was a dragon which she could somehow respect - she probably wouldn't have joined this journey if it was only the Spiral. Aurum was young herself and she knew respect towards other dragons was fundamental to work together - but Winterfang really didn't make it easier with his... Talkative character.
Which was the reason she ignored him mostly.
Skywall explained their options and she listened carefully. It was an easy decision, though.
"Let's head south", she said, "deeper into the ruins."
