(what if some random dragons that weren't water element didn't die when their deities did? while the rest of their clan did?)
Viva silently glided over the water, a faint breeze carrying her over its surface. She shouldn't exist anymore; a Wind dragon without the Wind lands. A Skydancer without its creator.
The universe was cruel. Why couldn't any of her clanmates survived? Why not sister, or her best friend? Why only her?
. . .
Why hadn't she been infected by Naomi? Or the Lorebreaker (curse that Bogsneak)?
With a sigh, Viva banked back toward the abandoned tower she now lived in. Slumping into her makeshift nest, the Skydancer covered her head with her wings; she felt like trying was pointless.
She sat up and stared out at the horizon, wondering if there was a different world somewhere past it. One where there were no insane godlike beings destroying it. Where no one had to worry about such things.
In a burst of desperation, Viva decided to go looking. Sornieth couldn't be the only land out there, and she would be the one to find this other place. If she died searching, so be it.
Shoving what few things she had into a satchel, Viva prepared to leave tomorrow at dawn. As much as she wanted to go now, she knew she'd need as much energy as possible.
As the dragon curled up in her nest again, she prayed to the stars that she would find something.
~the next morning~
Viva quietly slid out of her nest and stretched, looking around the bare tower for the last time. A pang of sadness gripped her heart, but she turned and leapt out of the tower, soaring into the sunrise.
