[nextcol]Hello! Thanks for checking out the thread! :)
I made this post as I've realized that as an artist I should get out of my comfort zone more often by drawing and experimenting with different creatures, objects, color techinques and brushes.

It's quite easy to get stuck in your little safety box, drawing the things you're comfortable with. For me they are dragons, they're what I draw most often, perhaps too much so. My goal however is to be able to draw anything I want without feeling unconfident about the outcome.

And to combat this trap is why I created this thread for myself! I'll try my best to post something different each day. Art will vary wildly, I'll try out different styles, brushes, color palettes, perspectives, anything I feel like I should practice. You are welcome to join me, feel free to comment, give tips, critique and suggest what to draw next! I might even draw something for you..

A natural treasure and a foundation piece for any hatchling's hoard.

Blue Buffalohead
Seafood
You'd think the forehead protrusion would be a delicacy or something. Nah, just a bunch of useless cartilage.

Don't put your goldfish down a drainage creek. They will grow mighty and come back to take their vengeance. It's also super mean and irresponsible.

@Troutfish add me to the pinglist! I need practice too! And I usually struggle with butterfly, based off of how complex the gene is
But the more I drew it, the simpler it got!
If you need practice of some busy genes and strange color palettes, feel free to take a look at my lair, or ask me to suggest a dragon

@SpeckledNightSky, Added, thank you for the interest! I don't struggle too much with FR genes, I've done loads of adopts on here and have had to draw nearly all the genes on multiple bases. Never Crystal though, but that's because I have a deep, solicited hatred for it, haha! But I suppose I should still try it sometime..
Thank you for offering your dragons, I'll be sure to take a peek. I'll try to hold off drawing dragons right now because I have plenty of experience with those, but definitely in the future~

So where else to begin other than with wolves, lol? Most artists probably had a wolf character at some point, me included. As a kid, I never really bothered to learn their proper anatomy though.
I’m not super happy with the lined doodle at the bottom, the legs and back feel a little bit wrong but I do like the blue sketches above! The jumping one could be a little more dynamic but I think they came out well in my style. Also drew two more realistic wolf headshots, their snouts are hard to get right.
I’ll definitely be drawing them more today and possibly throughout the night :)

More woofers! They’re already coming out better, compared to the first one at least. Lots of references were used, really shows how necessary they are. Doodling wolves definitely made me appreciate them more: they’re really ‘shapey’ and fun to draw!
