Hello! Love this idea, it's always fun to see people really branching out with their lore and getting others involved too.

My question is this: does the Shade have to be involved? I don't personally care much for that aspect of the general lore of FR but I do have a dragon who is quite literally a Guardian who buries the dead. She's a Guardian breed dragon who barely survived the death of her Charge and so most other dragons avoid her out of some instinct that she just isn't right. But that's okay because she now acts as a gravedigger and handles the general logistics of dealing with clan members who have passed away.

Her general appearance seems to be along the lines of what you've listed here, but since she's not exactly dead (though I'm open to the possibility of her just not knowing she's passed on) and she isn't involved with the Shade, I wasn't sure if she quite fits in with the subspecies or not. She's got one offspring, who I cannot come up with anything interesting for lore-wise, so maybe the daughter can be part of this instead? Just kicking around some ideas because this sounds awesome.

@LittlestCondor The Shade and being dead are pretty vital, but if you're determined to use this dragon maybe as a compromise your Guardian is unaware she's deceased and unaware of the shade threat. But if you'd rather keep your own lore I won't sway you either way, this is all just for fun :)

@CrowHarlequin Just the info outlined on the first page. As an Imperial, your dragon would be the most uncommon breeds when it comes to Burial Guardians, making them well respected. They will have to be deceased, existing in Purgatory, and helping fight off the shade. You can decide how they died and why they're struggling to move on / why they made the choice to join the fight. There's also some apparel and skin suggestions, all with an "undead" like vibe to them.
