Nope! Artists of all levels may join.
Q: Is there an entry fee?
No entry fee! Just comment on the thread that you'll be participating~
Q: What is NOT allowed?
Bases, vectors, stock images, photography, recolored official images, sculptures, knitting & other handcrafts, screenshot recolors, joke art/entries, and obviously art that isn't yours. Unfortunately I also am not accepting lore or stories, sorry! Use of official FR and Nintendo art is banned from this contest
Furthermore, no NSFW, gore, blood, profanity, drugs/alcohol references are allowed at all. Additionally, please do not use/copy/otherwise steal these characters. Inspiration is fine but I worked hard on them.
Q: What mediums are allowed?
Traditional (pencil, marker, watercolor, etc.), digital, mixed media, animation/gifs
Q: How many times can I enter?
One (1) piece per character. Two (2) entries max.
Two characters in the same image counts as only one entry.
NOTE!: You cannot win twice, even if you submit two entries.
Q: Can I make a gijinka/human form for your characters?
I'm only particularly interested in a design for Skylar. Gijinkas of anyone else will not count. Sorry! I just don't like them too much!
Q: Can we collab with a friend?
Maximum of 2 users per piece. Ultimately it will be between you two to figure out the prize situation if you win though, you will not get two prizes.
Q: What are you doing with the art from this?/What if I don't win?
Winning pieces will be added to my character's toyhouse/bio WITH CREDIT.
Non-winning pieces will not be used (unless I particularly like it then I may straight up pay you to use the piece)
Q: Again, what if I don’t win?
Your entry/entries will not be used. All participants will receive appropriate compensation for their time and efforts.
Q: Can I post my entry on other sites?
Yes, but you MUST credit me for the designs. Please link to my
toyhou.se (
SilverDeath). A simple “piece for contest on flight rising lulz” or "characters not mine" will not suffice. You may not tag my characters as ‘kin’ in any way, shape, or form.
Q: Even if I win I don't want you to post my art in your character's toyhouse/bio.

Q: I am uncomfortable drawing LGBT+ characters. Do you have any straight/cis characters I can draw?
Do not enter this contest. 90% of my characters and dragons are LGBT+ in some way.
Q: What could disqualify me from winning?
Art theft and harassing other users. Use of official FR and Nintendo art is considered art theft and prohibited from this contest. You may enter a traced/heavily references piece but do not expect to receive any form of compensation for it.

Of course!! I may sound curt here but I promise I don't bite, it's just best to be clear up front I feel!
Q: What determines a winner?
I'm looking at things like...
-Style
-Type (chibi/bust/fullbody/etc)
-Background
-Coloring
-Shading/highlights
-Expressions/poses
-Attention to detail (did you read their bio/info or just slap a generic expression and pose down?)
-Uniqueness (did you make a brand new piece or just recolor an adoptable from your shop?)
-How well you are able to incorporate their lore/personality into the piece
I'm clearly going to favor a fully colored piece over a lineart, for example.

Nope! I'm entertaining nearly everything.
Any tips and attention to detail things for your characters/dragons?
-Skylar does not actually have emo bangs despite how they've been drawn in their folder ;;
-Undertaker was formerly a Pearlcatcher, you can draw him with a pearl if you like!
-Grell is trans MtF and should have two horns as customary of Pearlcatcher gender dimorphism
-Alan's accent is not mandatory; he wears a bolo tie not a bowtie
-Eric's accent is not mandatory; he wears a regular tie not a bowtie
-Sebastian's cats are not mandatory; he wears a regular tie not a bowtie
-Emberblitz's dogs are not mandatory
-Veracity should have the full Raven Sylvan set but I have no idea where some pieces went oops
-All dragons have additional information and/or pictures in their bios
