Lorien looked over at Riv as his boyfriend loaded a game on the Xbox. He moved from the kitchen back into the living room, setting down the snacks he'd gathered for their time, then leaned over, kissing his boyfriend's cheek. Riv glanced at him, giving a smile, "I hope you like this game. A friend showed it to me. It's not anything like Skyrim. But you can still add mods to it, which I find cool. There's a PC version too. Here." Lorien took the controller he was handed and settled back against the couch, "Don't forget to eat, babe. Your mother wasn't happy with me last time she visited. As if I starve you or something."
Riv snorted, looking over at Lorien and giving a laugh, "Oh darling, you starve me for so many things." Lorien reached over, pinching his boyfriend in the side playfully, "You little.." Riv grinned, "I'm certainly not little in any way." Lorien let out an exasperated noise, pinching Riv's side again. The older male laughed again, pulling Lorien closer by his waist and placing a kiss to his temple, which earned him a sigh and a slight body leaning into his own. Riv smiled, looking up at the screen. He quickly adjusted things on it, splitting the screen into two views and pulled up the menu on both with the controllers before handing Lorien his controller back.
The slightly younger male took his controller, looking at the screen, "Minecraft?" Riv nodded, "It's kind of fun. I've been in it and messed around. I set up a private server for the two of us to play." He pulled up the menu, sending an invite to Lorien, then entered the game.
When the name of the server came up, Lorien wasn't sure what to think at first. He tilted his head, studying it, "It's a bunch of eggplant emoji-- Riv! That's terrible!" "But it's funny," Riv snickered again, earning another playful pinch from his lover. Lorien entered the game and looked down at his controller, learning where the buttons were before pressing forward. He glanced at Riv and back to the screen, "So what are we doing?"
"I honestly don't know. Let's build a house," Riv grinned, looking over at Lorien. The younger nodded, "Okay.. How do I do that?" "Oh baby…"
After about ten minutes, Lorien had the basics down and was working on building them a house while Riv went on a search for iron to make tools. However, when he got the iron, instead of making any kind of tools, he made a bucket and picked up some lava he had found in the caves. Lorien, however, was lost in the art of making his perfect house. He'd laid out birch wood and was adding a roof, barely noticing what his boyfriend was doing.
Riv made it back up to the top near where Lorien was building and watched him, glancing over at him and away from the screen. Lorien's eyes were trained on the screen, mouth slightly ajar in concentration. The older grinned, moving his character over and dropping the lava near the house. It spread, catching one wall on fire and starting to light a second wall. Riv quickly scooped it back up, hiding the bucket in his inventory.
After a few seconds, Lorien let out a gasp, "Riv! The house is on fire! Why is my house on fire!?" Riv covered his mouth, leaning on the arm of the couch and watching the events unfold. "Riv! Riv, help, the house is burning!" Lorien frantically tried to put out the burning wood, but only managed to catch himself on fire. He let out a whine, looking over at Riv.
The blonde was nearly doubled over with laughter, arm over his stomach. It took a moment for Lorien to connect what had happened with his laughing boyfriend, and when he realized, he was not happy. "River! You jerk! I swear, I am going to get you back!"
River couldn't stop laughing, reaching out with one hand and trying to calm his lover, "Babe, babe, babe, it's just a game!" Lorien glared at him and reached over, picking up Riv's controller. He grabbed at piece of the snacks he'd made and shoved it in his boyfriend's mouth before moving the lava bucket and laying it down, then jumped into it.
The look that flashed across Lorien's face when the words "Witty Gamer Tag tried to swim in lava" popped up was priceless, making Riv smile even more. He leaned in, pressing a kiss to Lorien's cheek, "Happy now that you have your revenge?" Lorien grumbled softly, glancing at him. There was no more real anger in his face or eyes, but the grump that remained was playful, "No. You're going to help me rebuild the house and then you get to do the laundry." Riv groaned softly, pressing his forehead to Lorien's shoulder, "Babe… Laundry's the worst."
Lorien smirked, pressing a kiss to Riv's head, "I know. That's why you get to do it." He looked down at him, then nudged him gently, "Come on. Help me rebuild. We can do laundry together when we finish our house." He smiled at him, then settled back against the couch, leaning his shoulder against his boyfriends.
Later that night, Riv snuggled up to Lorien's back, stroking his arm gently. Lorien turned his head to look at him and kissed his nose, smiling softly. Riv couldn't help the smile on his face, pressing a kiss to Lorien's nose, then his lips. However, before he could entice his lover further, Lorien gave a smirk, reaching up to pat Riv's cheek, "Sorry lava boy, HopeForTheFuture has left the game." With that, Lorien rolled over and flipped the lights off, leaving Riv in the dark.
