Hi there! would you be comfortable with creating a short story (like, day in the life of...) for Morrighan? She's already got a bit of lore, but if you don't feel comfortable with that it's totally fine to pass ^^ There's also this permababy that looks like she gives great hugs, but I have nothing else for her. Feel free to write lore for either of these if you're ok with that ^^

The short story may be a little long (ironic), but I hope you like it since I don't write stories often. It was fun though! I gave Eirlys some lore and a backstory, so that's here as well :)

'Short' Story:

Morrighan sighed. This was not going to be a good day; rather the opposite. There was to be a fight. A lot of bloodshed, more than most battles she’d seen.

Contrary to her namesake, Morrighan hated blood and fighting. She’d learned to cope with this hatred over her years working as a sort of banshee, warning dragons of their death, and advising kings and queens on battles yet to come. But this. . . this vision was the worst she’d seen. So, in the early hours of the morning, she sat at her desk, racking her brain for a possible way to stop the bloodshed.

What if I tell the king that he should move the troops this way? Or that way? Ughh. . . I don’t know.

Eventually, Morrighan’s head slipped out of her claws and onto the table. Her many eyes slowly shut and she drifted to sleep.

A beam of sunlight streaming in from the dusty window above Morrighan woke her. Groggily at first, her head rose, and she blinked the sleep out of her eyes, yawning. Then it hit her.

“The battle!” She practically shouted. Now fully panicked, she rushed to the door and began to fly as fast as she could to the king’s palace.

Why did he insist on me living all the way out here? She cursed the king to herself.

Her red scales gleamed in an unnatural way as she shot past the quaint villages beneath her. Trying her best to ignore the occasional surprised shouts from the villagers, Morrighan raced on.

Finally, after what seemed like days, she reached the towering gates of the castle. Pushing them open, she continued inside, where the king sat on his throne.

“Finally, Morrighan.” His voice seemed to boom out across the gigantic room. Tapestries draped the walls, and a huge mound of gold and treasure sat behind the king. “You’re late. So, do you have anything to tell me about?” He continued, now looking at Morrighan with a mix of interest and annoyance.

“Yes. Your Majesty, I’ve seen a battle today. Possibly worse than I’ve ever seen before. Please, for the sake of your army and your people, do anything you can to avoid it.” Morrighan’s voice was full of pleading.

The king smirked at her. “Oh, you mean that silly old skirmish? Of course we’re going to win. What are you talking about?”

Morrighan glared at him with all of her eyes. She could feel the king shrink back slightly as she did so. “It’s not like I can see the future or anything.” She muttered to herself before continuing on. “Sire, please, do not fight this battle. You will lose, awfully.”

The king shook his head and flicked his claws, gesturing for Morrighan to be escorted out.

“You’ll regret this!” She shouted as two armed guards practically shoved her out onto the front steps. She shook her head and stole one last glance of the king before the large doors shut with a clang. Suddenly, a picture came to her mind. It was the king, laying there on presumably a battlefield, bloodied all over. He seemed to be dying.

Morrighan blinked the image away, and exhaled deeply.

“He should’ve listened to me. Now he’s going to pay.” She muttered darkly before quickly transforming into a crow and flying up to the top of the castle, slipping into sleep once more.

She was woken by the clatter of armour. Despite the fact that she knew where it was coming from, she still peeked over the edge of the roof with a heavy heart. She knew all of these dragons were going to die later that day. Swooping down onto a post fairly close to where the dragons were suiting up for battle, Morrighan began to preen her feathers before slowly looking around at all of them. Some began to notice her, and as they did, they began whispering nervously. One went up to her and stared at her for a moment. As if to acknowledge him, Morrighan nodded slowly while maintaining eye contact.

Then, the king burst out of a door nearby.

“What’re you doing? Come on, hurry up! We’ve a battle to fight!” He was covered in thick, steel plates that clanged as he walked.

“But- the crow-” One soldier tried to protest. The king only waved him off with a heavily clad hand.

“Pah! Silly old bird.” He swung at Morrighan. She glared at him before flapping back up to the castle. A feeling of justice rose in her stomach as she remembered the image of the bloody king.

Soon enough, the dragons and their king began their ride to the battle. Swooping overhead, Morrighan followed.

It had begun. The battle was nearly over already; the enemy had brought more than 10 times the dragons. There was blood everywhere, and almost all of it was from the king’s soldiers. Morrighan peered over the battlefield, searching for the king. Then, she spotted him. The armour that had shone back at the castle now littered the ground around him, dull with scratches and dried blood. She flew down and landed beside him. He weakly turned his head to look at her, and she nodded, before briefly turning back to her dragon form.

“You shouldn’t have doubted me.” She whispered, quickly changing back and swooping away before she herself was hit by a stray arrow.

Eirlys' lore:

Eirlys is a small veilspun who has quite the soft personality. She loves to give hugs and is always there to help anyone through a tough time. Her unique patterning and permanently small size gives her the look of a plushie, and this tends to come in handy when comforting someone. She may not feel soft and squishy, but her soft voice and comforting appearance combine to be just as, if not more effective.

If Eirlys isn’t working to make a dragon thrice her size feel better, you can bet that she’ll be working in the fields. She loves harvesting almost as much as she loves to mend a broken heart, and to watch her tiny hands working so effortlessly to harvest grains, or beans, or really any crop, is almost like the magic that gave her life.

Eirlys' backstory:

Eirlys wasn’t always a friendly, sentient dragon. Instead, she used to be an actual plushie. She started life as a home-sewn project by a veilspun hatchling. Though not yet sentient, she does still retain a few memories from then, though they are faded. Eventually, as the veilspun hatchling grew up, she was passed on from owner to owner until she came upon a, let's say, interesting character.

He was a larger than average fae and took an interest in all things arcane. Eirlys says that this was why he did the experiment on her. What experiment? Well, the one that gave her life. After it succeeded, the fae let her go free. At first, Eirlys almost died. As you can imagine, being a plushie for years and then suddenly being able to move would be hard. But eventually, she got the hang of this whole ‘living’ thing, and now she resides happily with her Eternal Youth friends.

I managed to get some internet, so here's your guys's lore!

@kailiode

Foehn:

Foehn is a joyful and bubbly fae who loves nothing more than to show new and old dragons alike around Lunamoire. He finds pretty much everything about it fascinating- the architecture, the unique assortment of dragons that live there, and he has a multitude of little fun facts that he sprinkles throughout his tours.

His happy-go-lucky attitude really contributes to the quality of Foehn’s tours. Not only do dragons he shows around find his enthusiasm endearing, but his excitement often rubs off on them. They often find themselves almost as happy as the fae by the end of it.

If you ever meet Foehn’s mother, you’d know immediately where he got his bubbly personality from. She’d probably greet you warmly- unless you were in battle with her. She’s a devil during a fight. Seeing this, you might assume that Foehn’d be the same. But you’d be wrong. Foehn hates confrontation and will avoid it all costs, so there’s really no reason to be afraid of him- maybe unless you’re looking to avoid a 15-minute long spiel on how intriguing a certain bookstore is.

Aviva:

Aviva is a shy bognseak with a talent for performance, as contradictory as it may sound. But it’s true. When you first meet her, she won’t be openly enthusiastic and welcoming. Instead, she’d shyly say hello and possibly invite you to a circus show.

Which is where the performance comes in. You see, Aviva inherited her father’s shapeshifting abilities, meaning she can switch between dragon breeds or even between different familiars at will. Basically, if it can breathe, Aviva can transform into it. Though much like her father, she spends the majority of time as a bogsneak, her preferred form.

Aviva’s performances in Gremlin’s circus are often the main attraction at any given show. She’ll do aerial tricks as a fae before switching to a wildclaw to sprint around, then finish off with an astounding show of strength as a guardian or banescale. You could encounter any assortment of forms whilst attending one of the shows she stars in. Though without fail, no matter how daring or outgoing she was during her performance, she’ll always greet her fans with a shy hello afterwards.

It was really fun weave elements of their parents into the lore :>

@DreamlightPegasi

Okay, I might have gone a little overboard with Synthesis, but I hope you like it anyways. :)

Synthesis spends all her time in the woods when she isn’t traveling with the Septimus Collective. This is partly due to her shy nature, but also due to the fact that in a strange, mag-icky way, she relates with plants on a deeper level than most. Mainly because she derives energy the same way as them.

Just like her name, Synthesis uses the sun for energy. Therefor she rarely eats; rather, her favourite pastime is to find a clearing in the woods and just lay there, happy as can be, soaking up the sun. No matter how tired beforehand, after taking a couple hours to sunbath, she’ll be fully energized. Though there is an exception to this.

The circuit-like patterns adorning her body are actually a show of her energy. Most of the time they’re bright and glowing, but if Synthesis spends too long without sun, they will go dark. This is the exception mentioned earlier. If she has gone through a bout of extreme darkness, whether it be through a cave with the Septimus Collective or an unusually long venture into a particularly dense spot of forest, it could take up to a week to replenish her energy and regain her glowing pattern.

Going too long without the sun could possibly be fatal to Synthesis. So if you ever see her laying in the forest, her patterns dark or not, you really shouldn’t disturb her. Let her sleep, and in an hour or two or whenever she wakes up, I’m sure she’ll be happy to talk to you.

@AtticaIonia

I always love writing about banescales (probably why I wrote a bunch for her too) :)

Marigold is an overall misleading banescale. And not in a bad way. Rather, a combination of her role and her terrifying complexion would lead to you to believe she’s a nasty one to deal with, as most banescale are. She’s covered in bones and fire-like patterns that match her icy eyes, but full of sweetness and a will to make anyone in her presence overall happier due to her.

Unfortunately, Marigold isn’t super self-aware. She doesn’t understand why after seeing her fiercely defend her home, an on-looker might run off screaming when she approaches them to ask if they’d like some tea. Which leads to her fighting skills. Marigold is an exceptionally talented fighter, whether in the air or on the ground. Her favourite tactic is to swoop down on an intruder similarly to a bird of prey- talons outstretched and ready to tear flesh from bone.

And you may be thinking; ‘Well if she’s an excellent fighter, the bones adorning her body must be those of enemies!’ If so, you’d be wrong. The orange bones that cover parts of her feet, tail, head and body aren’t from enemies. Most of them are genetic- there when she was born. Though there are a couple that aren’t from her. Some are random bits and pieces that she’s scavenged.

Whenever out on guard duty (and even in her free time), Marigold loves to scour the ground for miscellaneous bones and such. She’ll often pluck them off the ground and at the end of the day carry whatever she’s found home, adorning the walls and shelves of her den with that day’s gatherings. It just so happens that some of the bones looked good as extra apparel. In fact, if you go over for some tea (which is quite good), she may send you home with an extra little bone or unique piece of wood.

@puffbabe

I'm so glad you liked the lore I wrote for Sybil and Nanami! Also tysm for the tip!

Anyways, here's some lore for your three.

Selenka:

Selenka is a mysterious yet unstable and dangerous dragon. Many may be drawn to her elusive and quiet nature, but few have managed to get close to her without receiving wounds or even dying. This is, surprisingly, not completely Selenka’s fault.

If you somehow get close enough to her to take a good look at her skin, you’d probably see a pair of misty figures shifting in and out of sight. Sometimes, they even leave her skin and take on forms of their own, perching on Selenka’s shoulders and whispering taunts and promises into her ears.

They are physical manifestations of Selenka’s demons; the reasons she’s so unstable and dangerous. They manage to get into her mind and make false promises or coerce her into doing something dangerous, often threatening her to quicken the process. As horrible as it may seem, Selenka has learned to live with them, and for the most part keeps away from other dragons to save them from herself and the taunting cries of her demons.

Yateveo:

Yateveo is a morally indecisive pearlcatcher who lives his life constantly questioning his decisions. No matter what he is doing- whether something mundane, like eating breakfast, or something major in his life, like deciding to break it off with a romantic partner- Yateveo is always faced with moral dilemmas.

Unfortunately, this has a huge affect on the pearlcatcher’s life. Often friends and sometimes even family will stop contacting him, out of exasperation for his constant hesitations. This has only furthered his problem with indecision, since he has fewer and fewer dragons helping him make choices over time.

Though Yateveo is actively trying to rid himself of this anxiety, some dragons who know his ailment find it quite useful. If they’re trying to make an important decision, they’ll often call in Yateveo to bring up different perspectives and things that the decision might affect. And even though he acknowledges that sometimes he can be useful, his biggest wish really is to rid himself of his indecision; which ironically is one of the only decisions he is sure of.

(apologies if I got the pronouns wrong btw)

Zegai:

Zegai is a uniquely fascinating fae who really isn’t a fae- or even from Sornieth. He is seemingly a form of shapeshifting alien who upon arriving on Sornieth decided to take on the form of a fae. Only his closest friends know of his mysterious origins, few and far between as they may be.

Most likely because of his (literally) alien background, Zegai finds it difficult to connect with other dragons. His biggest fear is his clan finding out about his true form, whatever that may be, so to combat a curious dragon finding out, he stays away from all except those he trusts dearly.

Maybe one day Zegai will be comfortable revealing his true form and where he came from, though at this rate of distrust, that day will most likely never come. It is possible though, that if a charismatic enough dragon comes his way, maybe one day he’ll reveal the true Zegai.

All in all, thank you all so much for ordering some lore from me. I hope the quality isn't lower than usual (whatever usual is) because I wrote all this in a car, and huge apologies for any spelling mistakes in the lore. Since I don't have internet, I also don't have spellcheck ;w;.

@AtticaIonia

@puffbabe

Hi! I'd love some help with lore for these two dragons of mine :D They're sort of partners/mates but it was due to a circumstance (or perhaps stuck together for convenience!) Zepar, the lady below is prideful, and notably aggressive at times, she's a mercenary (sometimes unlawful!) While Tulisan is more of a writer than his other profession, a bandit, and seems to prefer to write, though one shouldn't underestimate his bad side. I haven't got any creative thoughts on Tulisan's personality yet as I'm stuck :'D an additional note that I'll hopefully change their breeds to the gene plans shown in their bios! Okay, just got back from the main internet-less portion of my trip. Will have internet for tonight until we gotta get back on the road tmr. I don't currently have any lore for y'all but will be taking this time to organize web pages so I can write on the drive. For now, I want to do an interest check: First up, is there any interest in me starting an actual official lore shop that charges? If so, what should I charge? (also how do pinglists work for lore shops??) Second and (imo) the more interesting portion; would anyone be interested in a section for pre-lored dragons? I made a sample of how I would price them so I'll drop that here: Things I factor into pre-lored dragon pricing: - An estimate of the base dragon’s worth using this dragon pricer - The cost of any clothing (if included with the dragon) - The cost of a familiar (if included with the dragon) Once that has all been added up, I round the price down to the nearest factor of five and add an extra 5kt on for the lore. Here’s an example of how I find an average dragon pricer. We’ll use my custom progen: [columns] [nextcol] The dragon pricer prices her at approximatley 12kt/12g (excluding her gen 1 and colour rarity. Those will always be left out of the mix) [/columns] [columns] [nextcol] Overall I spent about 40kt on her clothes, so now we have 52kt/52g. [/columns] [columns] [nextcol] Her familiar was cheap- only about 5kt. So now we have 57kt/57g. [/columns] So rounding down 57kt/57g, we get 55kt/55g. Then add the 5kt on, you get 60kt/60g. Basically, the dragons would come with their own lore pre-written, along with an outfit and a familiar if they're included. I think it'd be fun but will only do it if people are interested :) Anyways, hopefully I'll have your guys' lore soon :>
