I'm surprised there is no mention in their lore of their tails, considering they are similar in size to their bodies I feel its lacking some explanation there

I feel you, I finally obtained enough for the swap just before Ancient Parchments were introduced, so I'm hoping they introduce some way to revert Ancient Genes back to Ancient Parchments in GGG in the future so I don't need to go through the whole grind again to use Blossom on something other than Gaoler
