"She's a handful, isn't she?" Azeban sighs, one of the Aberration's heads looking stressed and worried while the other craned to see where the small Bogsneak was going. "I know," Crypthys acknowledged. "Sometimes I think the Arcanist may have altered the egg, or something, just to mess with us." "I mean I've dealt with plenty of rambunctious hatchlings, she's just...very enthusiastic..." Azeban murmured, while his other head hollered, "NYDA! Put that down! I said put it down!" followed by a large crash. Both heads sighed. "Is she really an Arcanist's egg, like you've said?" Crypthys shrugged. "We haven't seen the Gladekeeper in...decades? And he comes down, gives us this egg, tells us it's from the Arcanist and then disappears...well, I'm inclined to believe him. Wasn't like the egg didn't seem special from the beginning." "Do you think she's the avatar the Gladekeeper told you about? One of the ones he wants from each flight?" Crypthys shook his head. "No, I don't believe so. He said we'd know, and I certainly don't know about her." "That's true," Azeban sighed again, then squinted. "Hang on, I haven't heard Nyda screech in a moment..." The Aberration made his way into the next room, and then Crypthys sighed as he heard, "Nyda, how in the name of-" |
