Leoni

GK Leoni (Greek – ‘lioness’) - progeny: Belfalas, Dagorlad, Marmorata and 23 further descendants.

Clan Role – Head of trade.

Mate - Mushu. Leoni was Morgul’s original consort, and of all his mates she lasted the longest and was the only one not to be run out of the clan once they parted ways. Her aggressive, mirror personality impressed Morgul and her usefulness to the clan ensured she still had a place in it once her time as consort came to an end. With such an important, imposing prior mate, Leoni did not find any dragon to partner with for more than one clutch for a long time. This did not concern her at all, as she was often too busy trading with other clans or with Baldwin at the market hub to think too much on mates or devote time to one. Things changed when she met the good natured, adventurous Mushu on her travels, and she became so attached to the fae that she persuaded him to return to the Ashfall Wastes with her, and convinced Morgul to let the wind-born dragon into the clan. Morgul, as always, was distrustful of a dragon of another elemental allegiance joining the clan out of the blue, so he tested Mushu and Leoni’s obedience to his rule by ordering Mushu to father a clutch with a dragoness of his choice. The pair reluctantly agreed, Leoni was furious and as one of the few dragons who could get away with shouting at Morgul without serious repercussion she raged long and loud against the decision. However, the pairing went ahead. Morgul was pleased by the hatchlings that resulted and Mushu was allowed to stay as Leoni’s life mate. Leoni was only too happy to quickly arrange profitable trade agreements with other clans for the hatchlings so she could run the hated dragoness out of the SaF clan as fast as possible, but Morgul was so impressed how valuable the hatchlings were he dictated one should stay in the clan to breed more like them. Thus little Merah remained, and is a constant reminder to the pair of this turbulent, unhappy time in their pairing.

Family – As the most successful consort to Morgul, Leoni is related to the majority of the royal line in the clan. Her children Belfalas and Dagorlad have been deemed Morgul’s heirs, and the two have spawned 18 further descendants. Leoni is very close to Belfalas, although neither of the strong-willed, proud dragons would admit it. Dagorlad however has always been at odds with both his parents, his thoughtful mindset and magical abilities leaving them with little in common. Leoni is also close to her great (x4) grandchildren Annuminas and Mithril, as they also spend much time travelling to other clans in their roles as clan ambassadors. Marmorata is the only one of her and Mushu's offspring to remain in the clan to date, and between her trading duties as his as the head guard of the hatchling quarters they don't get a lot of time together. However Leoni is proud of her son's fighting prowess and greatly enjoys sparring with him and her grandchild Rhizosmilon (another hatchling quarter guard) when she has the chance.
Penny is her full blood sister, from the same clutch born in the Viridian Labyrinth far to the north, and both came to the SaF clan together. They are extremely close despite their different temperaments, they were both born impulsive mirror dragons but Penny was scrolled to a snapper early on and has developed the thoughtful mindset common in the breed.

Bio – Leoni is an impulsive, headstrong, confident dragon who is not afraid to let her voice be heard, or beat the daylights of anyone opposing her, physically or verbally. Her quick mind and strong will made her excel as the clan’s trade master, responsible for haggling and hammering out trade agreements for anything from food supplies, trinkets with Baldwin at the market hub, familiars from the SaF clan’s huge archive of them, priceless artefacts and even hatchling exchanges. Her clan role means she is often travels far from the clanholm, and she can be away for long periods of time. She has come to enjoy her travels and adventures on the road, especially as she met her lifemate Mushu while on such journeys and now can spend some of them with him keeping her company when his clan duties allow him to.
Despite her brash, sometimes aggressive temperment, Leoni does have a caring side which springs from her nature-born heritage. This usually manifests in her trading for many gifts and surprises for the various SaF clan members while on her travels, and her returns home are typically greeted with celebration and much excitement as she hands out goodies and stories to those that welcome her.
Leoni’s best friend is her mate, Mushu, and the two spend much of their time good naturedly throwing banter back and forth between them. She is unable to get over her dislike of Mushu’s daughter Merah, and the two pointedly avoid each other. Leoni does not leave Merah out of the gift giving upon her return from travelling though, as she is smart enough to realise that the circumstances of the fae’s birth is not Merah’s fault, despite her inability to get overcome it emotionally. She is good friends with other the other quick-witted, adventurous dragons in the clan, particularly those that must travel like she does. Marvel, Darla, Fury, Mithril, Annuminas and Darkshard are counted as her closest friends, and she is one of the few dragons that Valarauka (the almost solitary familiar keeper) is on vaguely friendly terms with.
