The first-born daughter of Andris and Edda, little Ásdís was born with a coat as black as midnight, the opposite of her adored twin sister. She burst into tears when it was announced that her sister would be going to live with their uncle, and was inconsolable for weeks over the separation. Fortunately, the two clans are close, so little Ásdís and Eydis still meet often to play, hang out, or just sit together in silence.

With her naturally friendly nature, this young skydancer is a natural choice to show strangers around the lair, and has made several friends by doing so. She has fond memories of Ming Lan and Haezel who visited in January – especially Haezel, who spent hours with her looking at the carefully-placed carvings on the walls and in the nursery playing with the babies.

Her sweet smile and gentle disposition, however, do not meant that she is easy to overrule, and she fluffs up like a termagant when her will is crossed. It takes extreme circumstances to cause Asdis to move beyond words to attack, but when she does, she is a capable fighter, and her tooth and claw have shredded the wings of many a harpy trying to attack Ward Lair.

Despite her abilities in the coliseum, Asdis is a caretaker at heart. Her main task is keeping the lair comfortable. She washes and replaces blankets and cushions, sweeps floors, and cleans up Teneb's feathers. Most of all, though, she cleans up mud. Lots and lots of mud.

Asdis runs the clan's laundry, and often thanks her lucky stars that dragons don't need clothes - until winter comes and she is spending hours every day washing the mud and grime from the piles of blankets the smaller dragons huddle under as they try to conserve warmth. The herders can't spend all their time inside. They must go out again every day, seeing to their animals and returning, covered in snow, mud, and dirt, wanting a hot fire and clean blankets. Winter, she often thinks, is hell.

Her favorite chore is setting dry towels by the hot springs and clearing the springs of leaves. After all, to clean out the springs properly she has to dive into them, taking a cloth to scrub the bottoms of the pools.
By the time she is done, she is sopping wet already, and as she tells her fellow clan mates, at that point she might as well just have a soak before she moves on to her next chore.

Asdis appreciates that exalted dragons have good, fulfilling work to do guarding the clan's borders, but she is always sorry to see her children go, and secretly wishes that all of her babies would be invited into other clans instead, where she could visit them often and tell them she loves them.
