A migratory dragon, Runa moved from Aitah's wind clan to live under the earth because of her love of carving. She makes the wooden furnishings of the lair, creating ingenious solutions to Hlynur's increasingly complicated requests for loom patterns, and the runic carvings on wood and stone around the lair are her own design, which she guards jealously. Even her pearl has not been untouched. She has carefully carved the deep runes of her name into it, to grow fainter but wider every time her pearl grows. Although willing to make anything her lair mates ask of her, Runa refuses to let anything out of her claws without some decoration, and even the most menial of the furnishings in the lair bears her mark. Her fame is fast growing, due especially to the keys she has taken to carving, carved and painted to represent the dragon to whom they belong. Each key is made by hand, as an individual gift, and they are prized as treasures. |

After her aunt and sister chose to be exalted to fight the Shade in the ranks of the Gladekeeper, Runa changed. She became more serious, her wings became darker, and the patterns she created more complex, and she abandoned her old key, burying it in the depths of the vault.
