Mail carrier in Maestro's network who keeps a comprehensive map of every shop in Wanderin, annotated with what they sell, and a bunch of clippings from Roa Mansa's weekly advice column in a pocket of his pouch, because everyone he delivers to always asks him things. He's not sure why.

"I need x, where can I find-" is the easiest type of question.

"What should I get/do/say-" for someone is... why would he know?! He doesn't even know who that is? Is he supposed to?

He does his best since people ask, but he doesn't know, so, here, maybe reading this will help? And if they think it might then sure, let him know how it goes...

(Which is sort of successful. Because if the advice doesn't work they tend to come back and let him know - sometimes at length and/or volume - so he knows to take that advice clip out and maybe replace it with another one. Eventually that will leave nothing but stuff that works right?)

Tongue gets easily twisted outside Loop communication so he came up with an easy useful substitute, that works in most cases to convey general meaning: emotive notes. He keeps small bunches of pre-drawn slips in his pouch to hand people in answer and blank notes in case he needs to improvise and it works, people get it, actual words are hardly ever needed. "<3" does the job just fine.

Sort of. It turns out exaggerated-rounded-eyebrows-and-pointed-nose is only an obvious happy face to auraboas, and looks like something else to all the species that live nested together. It took a really long time to realize the misinterpretation because apparently what other people see has only a slightly different meaning.

Instead of pleasure-acknowledgement-appreciation, they seem to read it as pleasure-appreciation-affection, which... close enough? Probably? Pretty much seems to work? Hasn't caused any huge problems before (as far as he knows), and might seem weird if he changed now. (Plus, how else is there to draw a happy face?)

People keep asking him to give emotive notes copied from his to other people from them. He delivers packages. Letters go in the tube system Maestro developed for the intra-Wanderin mail network. So they grab the closest pretty pebble or feather and claim it's a package. with note attached. please?

He hates to say no (even though those things also fit in the mail tubes), but it slows down his deliveries a lot to add on extras like that, so he asked Maestro. Who, snickering, upgraded his supply pouch and wrote up rates for the new Yours Cordially card delivery option:

You can buy the card directly from the mail carrier, write and address your note and hand it right back for personal delivery (for an extra fee, of course, since dropping it in a mail tube is still free). For another small fee you can include a piece of candy. (For a large fee you can include flowers, since those are so easily crushed, but you have to find the flowers yourself.)

Hatchlings found out he now sells not only stamps but candy. He has become the most popular mail carrier EVER. His timeliness is now endangered by hatchies flagging him to WAIT! for them to grab allowance and asking why won't he sell ice cream.

(Every mail carrier offers the new option, but for some reason he's the most popular for it. Maestro actually added another extra fee to have him be the one delivering. At this rate there might start being days he can't deliver anything else.)

He was having an actual-words conversation with Sinjin once, trying to explain the Loop, and had just said his gender was "sort of all of them, part of the time, but" when someone yelled "ENAMORUS!" and glomped him. (Fortunately Tornadus is small and lightweight and has a lot of fluff, so it didn't hurt to be tackled.)

He's not sure if those are connected. Cause and effect are really finicky issues when you try to drag them into linear order. (Maybe not connected? Because she yells it every time she sees him.)

An abber keeps asking Cordial to deliver emotive notes to... a pillow. A pillow that sort of looks like it has feeder teeth. Is he... trying to teach the pillow to eat? (paper? or words? or emotions?)
