NAME is a stained-glass window, but not a complete one. The pane he used to be a part of shattered long ago, and whatever beautiful artwork he used to depict was long rendered incomprehensible. He likes it, though, likes being abstract. It makes him feel modern. His favourite thing is to find oddly-shaped shadows, like the dappling of sunlight through leaves or the fuzzy afternoon quality of a sunbeam scattered by dust. He watches the light dance on his scales, and tries to imagine what it would’ve looked like in his other body, how he would’ve refracted that into so many rainbow colours.
